‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 4 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In my opinion, Series 4 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is the best season out of the David Tennant/Tenth Doctor era. I have very fond memories of this season when I saw it back in 2008. It was my first proper ‘Doctor Who’ season to watch on TV after I saw the previous seasons on DVD. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Turn Left’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Bank Holiday Monday in August in the UK in 2023 today. Here we are on the penultimate story of Series 4 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for ‘Turn Left’ by Russell T. Davies. In this ‘Doctor Who’ episode, it’s the turn of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble to be without David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, as she finds herself living a different life in a parallel universe where she never met the Doctor, forced on her by Chipo Chung as the Fortune Teller. It’s where we have the return of Billie Piper as Rose Tyler (Yes, I know she appeared in ‘Partners In Crime’, ‘The Poison Sky’ and ‘Midnight’, but those were brief cameos). This episode also features Jacqueline King as Sylvia, Donna’s mum and Bernard Cribbins as Wilfred Mott, Donna’s granddad. There’s also the introduction of Noma Dumezweni as U.N.I.T. Captain Magambo. ‘Turn Left’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Partners In Crime’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on Series 4 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. This is, in my opinion, the best season featured in the David Tennant/Tenth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ and is my favourite. It features the return of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, who previously appeared in ‘The Runaway Bride’ and she becomes the Tenth Doctor’s travelling companion in this season. We start off Series 4 with the episode ‘Partners In Crime’ by Russell T. Davies where the Tenth Doctor and Donna investigate Adipose Industries before they reunite with each other. The episode features the return of Jacqueline King as Sylvia, Donna’s mum, and Bernard Cribbins as Wilfred Mott, who previously appeared in ‘Voyage of the Damned’ and happens to be Donna’s granddad. There’s also special guest star Sarah Lancashire as Miss Foster. ‘Partners In Crime’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Continue reading

Bernard Cribbins (1928-2022)

Hello everyone.

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

Not only has David Warner passed away recently, but so has Bernard Cribbins. 😦 I’m saddened Bernard Cribbins is no longer with us. I saw him recently on the big screen when checking out the two ‘Doctor Who’ films with Peter Cushing as well as 1970’s ‘The Railway Children’ on Prime Video. Continue reading

Convention Memories – ‘Cardiff Film & Comic Con 2014’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

Before I share my latest convention report on the ‘London Comic Con Spring’ from last weekend, let’s talk about another set of ‘convention memories’! It’s time to talk about the first convention I attended back in 2014 – the ‘Cardiff Film & Comic Con’! This was held at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, March 2014. This was one of the happiest conventions I attended, since it was close to home. 🙂 Continue reading
