Quick Movie Review – ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I saw ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ on BBC iPlayer on Christmas Day! 🙂 I greatly enjoyed seeing the film. It was a very nice film to sit through and I felt very relaxed watching it. The ‘Wallace & Gromit’ nostalgia came back for me as I watched the film. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Sleep No More’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Today, we’re looking at an interesting experiment of a ‘Doctor Who’ episode in Series 9 of the new TV series. Here we are on ‘Sleep No More’ by Mark Gatiss, starring Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor and Jenna Coleman as Clara. This is a ‘Doctor Who’ episode that’s presented through a series of found footage. There’s also no opening titles sequences for this ‘Doctor Who’ episode. And this happens to be an episode that was shown in November 2015, not at the end of October 2015 as you would expect (That honour was of course given to ‘The Zygon Invasion’ – the first episode of the two-part Zygon story in Series 9 😀 ). As well as Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, this ‘Doctor Who’ episode features special guest star Reece Shearsmith as Rassmussen. Reece Shearsmith is no stranger to ‘Doctor Who’, since he’s been in the ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ series by BBV, playing Andrew Powell in the episodes ‘The Devil of Winterborne’ and ‘Ghosts of Winterborne’. He also briefly played Patrick Troughton in the 2013 docu-drama ‘An Adventure In Space and Time’. There are monsters in the episode that happen to be called the Sandmen (No, not Sandman in ‘Spider-Man’. And not the Sandmen in the Big Finish audio drama ‘The Entropy Plague’ 😀 ). Is this a ‘Doctor Who’ episode that wins me over completely? Do I find this experiment of a ‘Doctor Who’ story truly satisfying? ‘Sleep No More’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Disney+ Roundup – ‘The Ghosts of Buxley Hall’, ‘Haunted Mansion’ (2023), ‘See How They Run’ & ‘The Lone Ranger’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s that time again to share my thoughts on some movies I saw on Disney+ lately, except this time it’s not two or three films I’m sharing my thoughts on, but four. Yes, I’ve seen about four movies in October 2023. A couple of them have spooky elements to them. Are they any good? Let’s find out. 🙂 Continue reading

DVD Review – ‘Ghosts of Winterborne’ (P.R.O.B.E.)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Well, you’ve asked for it and you’ve got it! 😀 Here’s my latest review on a BBV production and it’s on the fourth and final ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ episode to feature Caroline John as Liz Shaw from the worlds of ‘Doctor Who’. This is ‘Ghosts of Winterborne’ and it’s a sequel to the second ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ episode called ‘The Devil of Winterborne’. Continue reading

DVD Review – ‘The Devil of Winterborne’ (P.R.O.B.E.)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is something I’ve reviewed recently over the Easter holidays. I’ve reviewed the second episode of the ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ series by BBV called ‘The Devil of Winterborne’. This was recently given to me as a late Christmas present by Stephen, my best mate from school. ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ is a ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off series starring Caroline John as Liz Shaw. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘Sleep No More’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we come to what I consider to be a low-point in Series 9 of ‘Doctor Who’. This is ‘Sleep No More’ by Mark Gatiss. This is an interesting if unusual experiment of a ‘Doctor Who’ episode based on the concept of found footage. This episode doesn’t work for me to my tastes. My review explains why that is. Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s the penultimate review in this year’s 55th anniversary celebration of ‘Doctor Who’ on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and it’s also the eve before the 55th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ takes place. So what better thing to look into than the docu-drama that details how the ‘Doctor Who’ TV series began in 1963. Continue reading
