Let’s check out ‘The Web of Fear’, a six-part ‘Doctor Who’ story that features the second appearance of the Yeti in the TV series. Like ‘The Enemy of the World’, this was another ‘Doctor Who’ classic adventure that was considered lost from the BBC Archives before it was found and recovered in October 2013. Now the story can be enjoyed on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. The story stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. It also features the return of Jack Watling as Professor Travers and it introduces Nicholas Courtney as Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart. Continue reading

For a while, this six-part ‘Doctor Who’ TV adventure was missing from the BBC Archives. In October 2013, it was found and can be enjoyed by every ‘Doctor Who’ fan watching it on DVD and via Britbox. ‘The Enemy of the World’ stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and as the villainous Salamander. This story also stars Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. This is also the first ‘Doctor Who’ story to be directed by Barry Letts. Continue reading

It’s time to check out the ‘Doctor Who’ story that features the debut of one of the Doctor’s deadliest enemies. This is ‘The Ice Warriors’, a six-part story featuring ‘Doctor Who’s version of the Martians from Mars called the Ice Warriors. The story also stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. Welcome to the first story of Season 5 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series! 🙂 This is ‘The Tomb of the Cybermen’, a four-part story where Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria visit the planet Telos where the tombs of the Cybermen are. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The final story of Season 4 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is called ‘The Evil of the Daleks’. It’s here that we’re introduced to a new companion in the TV series – Deborah Watling as Victoria Waterfield. In this seven-part story, Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and Frazer Hines as Jamie are transported back in time from 1966 to 1866 where they must deal with the Daleks and their Emperor who want the human factor. This is another mostly missing TV adventure with ‘Episode 2’ intact whilst the rest of the story has been animated on DVD and Blu-ray. ‘Episode 2’ of ‘The Evil of the Daleks’ is also available to check out on Britbox. 🙂 Continue reading

Here’s the penultimate story in Season 4 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘The Faceless Ones’. It’s here where we say goodbye to Anneke Wills as Polly and Michael Craze as Ben. In this story, Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and his friends Polly, Ben and Jamie visit Gatwick Airport in 1966 where the alien Chameleons are causing terror. ‘The Faceless Ones’ is mostly a missing six-part TV adventure with ‘Episodes 1 and 3’ still intact whilst the rest of the story has been animated on DVD and Blu-ray.
