It’s taken me a while, but I’m at last checking out and sharing my updated reviews on Season 25 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace. This is the 25th anniversary season of ‘Doctor Who’, which was shown from October 1988 to January 1989. The Blu-ray box set came out in October 2024, but I had to check out Seasons 15 and 20 on Blu-ray first before getting onto sharing my updated thoughts on the four stories in Season 25. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for the 25th anniversary season of ‘Doctor Who’ – Season 25 – starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace. We begin with my absolute favourite story from the Sylvester McCoy/Seventh Doctor era called ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’, a four-part adventure by Ben Aaronovitch. This story has the Seventh Doctor and Ace travelling back in time to the year 1963 where they visit Coal Hill School in Shoreditch, London. We’re also introduced to the Counter-Measures team, including Simon Williams as Group Captain Gilmore, Pamela Salem as Rachel and Karen Gledhill as Allison. ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. It’s the fifth story of Season 14 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series and it’s called ‘The Robots of Death’, a four-part adventure by Chris Boucher, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela. In this story of Season 14 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, we’re introduced to a new companion – Louise Jameson as Leela. It’s time for ‘The Face of Evil’, a four-part adventure by Chris Boucher. The story has Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor meeting Leela on a jungle planet and they solve the mystery of the Evil One called Xoanon (who looks like Tom Baker) and the threat to the tribes of the Sevateem and the Tesh. ‘The Face of Evil’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. For Christmas 2020, I gave my Mum a 3-disc DVD set of an ‘Agatha Christie Collection featuring Peter Ustinov’ in his ‘classic role’ as Hercule Poirot.
