Tim’s Reactions to Season 20 of classic ‘Doctor Who’ (ALL in ONE COMPILATION)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

To commemorate my first meeting with Sarah Sutton (Nyssa of Traken in ‘Doctor Who’) at the ‘Fifth Element’ convention in February 2010, here’s a brand-new video containing my reactions to Season 20 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, originally shared from March to June 2025. This was when I was updating my reviews on the stories of Season 20 of the classic TV series during that year, based on ‘The Collection’ Blu-ray box set that was released in 2023. Continue reading

Week 12d – ‘The Nyssa Challenge’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

At last! I’m up to date with checking out the latest Big Finish audios of ‘Doctor Who’ featuring Sarah Sutton as Nyssa in this year’s ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from December 2025 to January 2026. And I’ve checked out the most epic Big Finish audio story of ‘Doctor Who’ ever made, which is spread out across two box sets, both on CD and as a download. It’s time for ‘Hooklight’, an epic 12-part ‘Doctor Who’ audio adventure by Tim Foley, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. I’m so pleased I’ve been able to check out and do a brand-new review on the epic 12-part story at last! Continue reading

Week 12c – ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ REVISITED

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I know I shared my review on this ‘Doctor Who’ story last year, but since this six-part audio adventure leads directly into the next story ‘Hooklight’, which is a twelve-part audio adventure, I decided to revisit it in order to be familiar with what went on in that story as well as what happened at the end. Hopefully, it’ll prepare me in terms of what to expect when it comes to checking out and reviewing ‘Hooklight’. Anyway, for today’s instalment of ‘The Nyssa Challenge’, let’s revisit ‘The Great Beyond’ by James Kettle, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric.

Audio Reviews – ‘The Cloud Exiles & Other Stories’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And welcome to this year’s ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from December 2025 to January 2026! 🙂 It’s a Christmas tradition that’s been going for the past 10 years (unless you reschedule a ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for Easter 2024 instead of Christmas 2023, but that’s beside the point) where I share brand-new and updated reviews on certain ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring Nyssa of Traken, my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ companion, as played by Sarah Sutton in the TV series and the Big Finish audios. I’m looking forward to sharing with you some brand-new reviews on certain ‘Doctor Who’/Nyssa stories that have come out this year as well as share updated reviews on certain stories I’ve already covered but have revisited recently. Blu-ray Special Feature Review – ‘Time Trap’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Happy Birthday Sarah Sutton!

To commemorate Sarah’s birthday today, I’ve found the complete behind-the-scenes making-of documentary of ‘Castrovalva’, the first story of Peter Davison’s era of ‘Doctor Who’ called ‘Time Trap’, which was originally exclusive on Disc 1 of the Season 19 Blu-ray box set. I first saw this documentary back in December 2018 over the Christmas period. Continue reading

Season 25 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Sylvester McCoy on Blu-ray #4

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And here we are on the fourth and final story in Season 25 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace. I’m glad we’ve reached this point in completing Season 25 of classic ‘Doctor Who’, as we look into ‘The Greatest Show in the Galaxy’, a four-part story by Stephen Wyatt, who previously wrote ‘Paradise Towers’ in Season 24. I’ve updated and extended my thoughts on the story, based on my revisit of ‘Greatest Show’ via the Season 25 Blu-ray box set. There are two versions of ‘Greatest Show’ on Blu-ray, including the original four-part story and the Special Edition version. With the Special Edition version however, ‘Parts One and Three’ are given the extended treatment along with brand-new CGI effects. Continue reading

Season 25 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Sylvester McCoy on Blu-ray #3

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to check out the third story in Season 25 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace. Today, it’s time for ‘Silver Nemesis’, which is the actual 25th anniversary story of the season and it features the return of the Cybermen as well as featuring neo-Nazis, Lady Peinforte and Richard. I’ve updated and extended my thoughts on the story, based on my revisit of ‘Silver Nemesis’ via the Season 25 Blu-ray box set. ‘Silver Nemesis’ is a three-part adventure by Kevin Clarke. For the Season 25 Blu-ray box set, there are four versions of the story, including the original three-part story, the three-part Special Edition version, the 55-minute Special Edition omnibus version and the three-part extended VHS version from 1993.
