Season 20 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Peter Davison on Blu-ray #1

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for me to share my updated reviews on Season 20 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. I’ve been looking forward to sharing my updated reviews on Season 20 for quite some time since the Blu-ray box set came out in September 2023. The season stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Mark Strickson as Turlough. Let’s start off our look into the seven stories of Season 20 by checking out ‘Arc of Infinity’, a four-parter by Johnny Byrne, starring Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding. Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Just for you to be aware, I’ve added a brand-new review on the 1995 abridged audiobook of the Target novelization ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’ by Eric Saward, read by Colin Baker, who plays the Sixth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’. The audiobook is included in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS, Volume One’ collection via Audible. The story features the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown as well as the Cybermen. Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve recently checked out the Target novelization/audiobook of the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ by Eric Saward, featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri. I read the original paperback edition of the ‘Doctor Who’ story published in 1989 along with the 2024 unabridged audiobook read by David Banks, who plays the Cyber Leader in the TV story. It’s been a fascinating experience checking out ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ as a ‘Doctor Who’ story in prose form compared to seeing it as a TV story. Continue reading

Quick Movie Review – ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ (2003)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

My parents and I have a new Sky Stream puck box for our TV. So, we can watch Disney+, ITVX and Netflix on the TV in our living room. Hopefully, this means we’ll be able to see films easily on the TV when streaming them, especially when watching the Disney+ films. Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – The Church on Ruby Road’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’re back with another review on a ‘Doctor Who’ novelization/audiobook, and this time, it’s on the first Fifteenth Doctor TV adventure that was shown on Christmas Day in December 2023 called ‘The Church on Ruby Road’, featuring the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday. The novelization is by Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson, based on the TV script by Russell T. Davies, and the audiobook is read by Angela Wynter, who plays Cherry Sunday, Ruby’s grandmother in the TV series. I purchased the BBC Books hardback edition of ‘The Church on Ruby Road’ novelization as opposed to the Target paperback edition. Continue reading

Quick Movie Review – ‘Captain America: Brave New World’

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Well, I’ve seen the first ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ film for this year! I’ve seen ‘Captain America: Brave New World’. Interestingly, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ was the only ‘MCU’ film released in 2024. Extraordinary, considering the amount of ‘MCU’ content we’ve had. Continue reading

Quick Theatre Review – ‘Fawlty Towers – The Play’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

Last weekend, I saw ‘Fawlty Towers – The Play’ at the Apollo Theatre in London, based on the TV sitcom series ‘Fawlty Towers’. I greatly enjoyed watching this theatre production of ‘Fawlty Towers’, finding it a fascinating version of one of my favourite comedy TV shows. Continue reading

Quick DVD Reviews – ‘Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

For Christmas 2024, I gave my parents the Series 1-4 DVD collection of the BBC TV drama mystery series ‘Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators’. It was a winner for them as well as for me. So much so that I later purchased the 2022 Christmas Special on DVD. Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who and the Invasion of Time’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In case you missed it yesterday, I’ve added a brand-new review on the ‘Doctor Who’ Target novelization/audiobook ‘Doctor Who and the Invasion of Time’ by Terrance Dicks, based on the original TV scripts by ‘David Agnew’ (who is actually script editor Anthony Read with the scripts edited by producer Graham Williams). The story features the Fourth Doctor, Leela and K-9, and takes place on Gallifrey where our heroes confront the Vardans and the Sontarans. The 2016 audiobook for ‘Doctor Who and the Invasion of Time’ is read by John Leeson, who voices K-9 in the TV series and the Big Finish audios. Continue reading

Season 15 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker on Blu-ray #6

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And here we are on the sixth and final story of Season 15 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for an updated review on the six-part season finale ‘The Invasion of Time’ by David Agnew. The review was done by me and Timelord007 back in 2017. Today, we’re sharing our updated thoughts on the story, which sees Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor returning to Gallifrey, along with Louise Jameson as Leela and K-9, voiced by John Leeson. The guest cast includes John Arnatt as Chancellor Borusa, Milton Johns as Castellan Kelner, Chris Tranchell as Andred and Hilray Ryan as Rodan. The story also features the mysterious Vardans, and the war-like Sontarans, led by Derek Deadman as Commander Stor. This story also features the departure of Leela and K-9 Mark I. Continue reading
