Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Easter Saturday today! I know I shared this quite recently, but since this is the third story in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume One’ collection of ‘Doctor Who’ audio stories, there’s no harm in sharing it again today. It’s time to check out the 1995 abridged audiobook of the Target novelization ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’ by Eric Saward, read by Colin Baker. My review on the 1995 abridged audiobook has been added to my ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ page, which also contains a review of the TV story and on the Target novelization and the 2024 unabridged audiobook, read by David Banks. The story features the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown as well as the Cybermen. Continue reading

Season 20 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Peter Davison on Blu-ray #4

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on what I consider to be a very significant story in Season 20 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. Today, we’re checking out the fourth story of the season called ‘Terminus’, and it’s the second story of ‘The Black Guardian Trilogy’. ‘Terminus’ is a four-part story by Stephen Gallagher, who previously penned ‘Warriors’ Gate’ in Season 18. The story is directed by Mary Ridge, who previously directed six episodes of ‘Blake’s 7’. ‘Terminus’ is the final TV adventure to feature Sarah Sutton as Nyssa in ‘Doctor Who’. It’s a very special story for me, as it began what prompted me to go to ‘Doctor Who’ conventions and meet people like Sarah Sutton, Peter Davison, Janet Fielding and Mark Strickson who appear in this story. Valentine Dyall returns as the Black Guardian in this ‘Doctor Who’ story and there’s also the introduction of the Vanir and the Garm. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In case you missed it yesterday, I’ve updated my review on the Target novelization/audiobook of the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Snakedance’ by Terrance Dicks, based on the original TV scripts by Christopher Bailey. The story features the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan, and is a sequel to the first Mara story ‘Kinda’, which I’ve updated my review on the Target novelization/audiobook read by Janet Fielding and shared a new review on the abridged Target audiobook read by Peter Davison, both recently in December 2024. The 2025 audiobook for ‘Doctor Who – Snakedance’ is read by Geoffrey Beevers, who is well-known for playing the Master in the classic TV series and the Big Finish audios. Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve recently checked out the Target novelization/audiobook of the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ by Eric Saward, featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri. I read the original paperback edition of the ‘Doctor Who’ story published in 1989 along with the 2024 unabridged audiobook read by David Banks, who plays the Cyber Leader in the TV story. It’s been a fascinating experience checking out ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ as a ‘Doctor Who’ story in prose form compared to seeing it as a TV story. Continue reading
