Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And welcome to Season 11 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series! 🙂 This is Jon Pertwee’s fifth and final season as the Third Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’. We start off with ‘The Time Warrior’, a four-part story by Robert Holmes. This story is significant for two major things. Firstly, it introduces us to Elisabeth Sladen as new companion Sarah Jane Smith. It’s time for us to check out the ‘Dalek War’ saga in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. Today, we’re starting off with ‘Frontier In Space’, a six-part adventure starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant. Roger Delgado also makes his last and sadly final appearance as the Master in this ‘Doctor Who’ story. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Before the Sea Devils returned in the ‘Doctor Who’ Easter Special called ‘Legend of the Sea Devils’ in April 2022, they made their debut in the ‘Doctor Who’ adventure called ‘The Sea Devils’, starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant. Roger Delgado also makes a return as the Master in this ‘Doctor Who’ adventure. This six-part adventure can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. The story will soon be re-released in the Season 9 Blu-ray box set, so watch out for that. 😀

I’ve also reviewed the Target novelization/audiobook ‘Doctor Who and the Sea-Devils’ by Malcolm Hulke, read by Geoffrey Beevers. This four-part story has Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant visiting the planet Peladon, where they encounter Ice Warriors, Alpha Centauri and David Troughton as King Peladon. 😀 ‘The Curse of Peladon’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. It’s time to close off Season 8 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series by taking a look at the five-part adventure ‘The Dæmons’. This happens to be a favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story among the fans. It stars Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Katy Manning as Jo Grant, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates, John Levene as Sergeant Benton and Roger Delgado as the Master. Axos is calling Earth, as we venture into the third story of Season 8 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series – ‘The Claws of Axos’. This four-part story is the first to be written by Bob Baker and Dave Martin. Once again, Jon Pertwee stars as the Third Doctor with Katy Manning as Jo Grant, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates and John Levene as Sergeant Benton. The first story of Season 8 is ‘Terror of the Autons’, where Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor confronts the Autons and the Nestene Consciousness again. He meets Katy Manning as Jo Grant, his new companion, and he also meets his archenemy, Roger Delgado as the Master.
