‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 22 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Colin Baker’s first season as the Sixth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ is arguably a season that became scrutinised by the BBC executives. Criticisms laid against Season 22 were on the levels of violence in some stories and the show’s cheap-looking nature. It almost put the ‘Doctor Who’ show in jeopardy. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 21 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 21 is quite an unusual ‘Doctor Who’ season in the classic TV series. It’s Peter Davison’s third season as the Fifth Doctor, but it ends with Colin Baker introduced as the Sixth Doctor in ‘The Twin Dilemma’. Usually, the new Doctor’s introduction is saved for the next season, not at the end of one. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 20 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Whilst Season 19 is my favourite season out of the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era, Season 20 is arguably my second favourite season. I acknowledge that Season 20 had its problems, particularly in the production values affected by industrial action, but I enjoyed this season more than Season 21. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 19 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 19 is my favourite season out of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It has my favourite TARDIS team, including Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. Anthony AInley also returns as the Master in two stories of the season. I always enjoy revisiting Season 19 on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 18 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is a significant season. It was the first one of the 1980s, the first one under producer John Nathan-Turner’s reign, and it was seventh and final season of Tom Baker’s era as the Fourth Doctor. This is also a season with its own behind-the-scenes issues. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 17 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is considered a divisive season in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. Season 17 was script-edited by Douglas Adams, well-known for being the author of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’. He previously wrote ‘The Pirate Planet’ in ‘The Key to Time’ season (Season 16). I enjoyed checking out Season 17. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 16 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Out of the seven seasons featuring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’, ‘The Key to Time’ season (Season 16) is undeniably my favourite. I always enjoy coming back to this season, especially when it’s creative and inventive in its storytelling and how the quest romp theme ties the season together. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 15 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is arguably a transitionary season. As well as being Tom Baker’s fourth season as the Fourth Doctor, it was the first one to be heralded by new producer Graham Williams. 🙂 Graham Williams would implement quite a lot of changes to the show’s format. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 14 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 14 is Tom Baker’s third season as the Fourth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’. It’s arguably one of his best seasons in the entire show. It’s also Philip Hinchcliffe’s final season as producer and it’s Robert Holmes’ last full season as script-editor, although he did script-edit some of the stories in Season 15. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 13 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 13 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is where the Tom Baker/Philip Hinchcliffe era comes into full swing. This is where the gothic horror era of ‘Doctor Who’ is prominent, thanks to the efforts of script editor Robert Holmes. This is quite evident when one watches the entire Season 13. Continue reading
