Here’s another one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Patrick Troughton era! 🙂 This is ‘The Invasion’, an epic eight-part story where Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Wendy Padbury as Zoe face the Cybermen again. They also confront Kevin Stoney as the villainous Tobias Vaughn and they’re joined by Nicholas Courtney, who is promoted as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and is the leader of U.N.I.T., a new taskforce tackling alien invasions of Earth. For a while, this six-part ‘Doctor Who’ TV adventure was missing from the BBC Archives. In October 2013, it was found and can be enjoyed by every ‘Doctor Who’ fan watching it on DVD and via Britbox. ‘The Enemy of the World’ stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and as the villainous Salamander. This story also stars Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. This is also the first ‘Doctor Who’ story to be directed by Barry Letts. Continue reading →
