‘Tales From The TARDIS’ Review – ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’ (1995)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Easter Saturday today! I know I shared this quite recently, but since this is the third story in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume One’ collection of ‘Doctor Who’ audio stories, there’s no harm in sharing it again today. It’s time to check out the 1995 abridged audiobook of the Target novelization ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’ by Eric Saward, read by Colin Baker. My review on the 1995 abridged audiobook has been added to my ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ page, which also contains a review of the TV story and on the Target novelization and the 2024 unabridged audiobook, read by David Banks. The story features the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown as well as the Cybermen. Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve recently checked out the Target novelization/audiobook of the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ by Eric Saward, featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri. I read the original paperback edition of the ‘Doctor Who’ story published in 1989 along with the 2024 unabridged audiobook read by David Banks, who plays the Cyber Leader in the TV story. It’s been a fascinating experience checking out ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ as a ‘Doctor Who’ story in prose form compared to seeing it as a TV story. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 22 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Colin Baker’s first season as the Sixth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ is arguably a season that became scrutinised by the BBC executives. Criticisms laid against Season 22 were on the levels of violence in some stories and the show’s cheap-looking nature. It almost put the ‘Doctor Who’ show in jeopardy. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to begin the first full season of Colin Baker’s era of ‘Doctor Who’. This is Season 22, a ‘Doctor Who’ season featuring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri. The first story of the season is called ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ by ‘Paula Moore’, featuring…you guessed it…the Cybermen. 😀 This also happens to be the first two-part story in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ series where the episodes are 45 minutes each. Maurice Colbourne also returns to play Lytton from ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ and Davros actor Terry Molloy makes an appearance as Russell. ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.
