–UPDATED REVIEW ON AUDIO CD AND VINYL TODAY–

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s New Year’s Eve today! I’m sharing the penultimate instalment of my latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. Today, it’s time to revisit the ‘Doctor Who’ audio story ‘1963: Fanfare For The Common Men’, which I’ve recently listened to on my brand-new vinyl recorder player. I greatly enjoyed revisiting ‘Fanfare’ on vinyl. I must admit, I enjoyed it more than revisiting ‘Spare Parts’ on vinyl lately. 😮 I know ‘Spare Parts’ is highly regarded as a Big Finish audio story, especially with it featuring the Cybermen in it. However, I found ‘Fanfare’ more enjoyable, especially with it being set in the 1960s and having a Beatles-like atmosphere to it as well as starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa. Season 15 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker on Blu-ray #6

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And here we are on the sixth and final story of Season 15 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for an updated review on the six-part season finale ‘The Invasion of Time’ by David Agnew. The review was done by me and Timelord007 back in 2017. Today, we’re sharing our updated thoughts on the story, which sees Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor returning to Gallifrey, along with Louise Jameson as Leela and K-9, voiced by John Leeson. The guest cast includes John Arnatt as Chancellor Borusa, Milton Johns as Castellan Kelner, Chris Tranchell as Andred and Hilray Ryan as Rodan. The story also features the mysterious Vardans, and the war-like Sontarans, led by Derek Deadman as Commander Stor. This story also features the departure of Leela and K-9 Mark I. Continue reading

–UPDATED REVIEW ON AUDIO STORY TODAY–

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Happy New Year everyone! Once again, I had in mind to check out and review the ‘Doctor Who’ book called ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ by Paul Magrs, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Turlough. Sadly, I’ve been very busy these past few months and haven’t been able to put together all the Nyssa stories I wanted to review for the 2024-25 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season. Hopefully, I’ll be back on track later in 2025 with putting together brand-new reviews on the latest ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring Nyssa, including the ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ book, which I’m looking forward to reading. Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

So, originally, I was planning to do a set of updated reviews on ‘The Lost Stories’ trilogy of ‘Doctor Who’ audio adventures starring Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding from 2011 for my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from 2024 to 2025, including ‘The Elite’, ‘Hexagora’ and ‘The Children of Seth’. Sadly, I’ve been busy in November and haven’t been able to find time to do those updated reviews. Thankfully, I’ve been able to update my review on one of my favourite Fifth Doctor and Nyssa audio stories that is actually an audio anthology called ‘1001 Nights’. Continue reading

CD Review – ‘The Witch From The Well’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

To sort-of close off our look into the Paul McGann/Eighth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ in the 60th Anniversary Marathon, let’s check out one of the many Big Finish audios featuring this particular incarnation of the character. For this occasion, I’ve chosen the second story of the Eighth Doctor/Mary Shelley trilogy of Big Finish audios that was released in 2011. This is ‘The Witch From The Well’, starring Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor and Julie Cox as Mary Shelley. Continue reading
