–UPDATED REVIEW ON AUDIO STORY TODAY–
Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Happy New Year everyone! Once again, I had in mind to check out and review the ‘Doctor Who’ book called ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ by Paul Magrs, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Turlough. Sadly, I’ve been very busy these past few months and haven’t been able to put together all the Nyssa stories I wanted to review for the 2024-25 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season. Hopefully, I’ll be back on track later in 2025 with putting together brand-new reviews on the latest ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring Nyssa, including the ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ book, which I’m looking forward to reading.
In the meantime, let’s finish the latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season with an updated review on the Big Finish audio story ‘The Five Companions’, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, William Russell as Ian Chesterton, Peter Purves as Steven Taylor, Jean Marsh as Sara Kingdom and Anneke Wills as Polly. This story also features the Daleks, voiced by Nicholas Briggs, and the Sontarans, voiced by Dan Starkey. ‘The Five Companions’ was recently released as a download on ‘Doctor Who’ Day on the 23rd of November 2024 by Big Finish. I greatly enjoyed revisiting this wonderful ‘Doctor Who’ audio story for the latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season.
Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my updated review on ‘The Five Companions’ by clicking on the link for it. You can purchase ‘The Five Companions’ as a download from the Big Finish website.
Enjoy! 🙂
Well, that’s it for the latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from December 2024 to January 2025. I hope you’ve enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to checking out more Nyssa stories in the New Year, both brand-new and revisiting ones I’ve already reviewed. As well as the ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ book, I’m looking forward to checking out the Big Finish audio stories ‘Genesis of the Cybermen’ and ‘Hooklight’, both starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. There’s ‘The Cloud Exiles and Other Stories’ audio anthology, which includes the audiobook version of ‘Danger Down Below’, originally featured in the ‘Doctor Who Annual 1983’. I also hope to update my reviews on ‘The Lost Stories’ trilogy featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan, including ‘The Elite’, ‘Hexagora’ and ‘The Children of Seth’. I’ll try to do my reviews on these stories sooner rather than later, perhaps when ‘Genesis of the Cybermen’ comes out in March 2025. Let’s see what happens. Stay tuned for my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for 2025 to 2026.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂
