Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In updating my review on the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘The Five Doctors’, I’ve shared two new reaction videos via YouTube to add to my extended and updated thoughts on the story. This includes reactions to certain characters and moments featured in ‘The Five Doctors’ TV adventure itself, which I’ve enjoyed doing. Continue reading

DVD/Blu-ray Special Features Reviews – ‘Messages From Space’, ‘Look Who’s Driving’ & ‘Let’s Go Dutch’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In case you missed it yesterday, I’ve updated my review on ‘The Five Doctors’, the seventh and final story of Season 20 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. In doing so, I’ve updated my review on ‘Messages From Space’, a DVD special feature included on the ‘Doctor Who Magazine’ 40th anniversary disc for ‘The Collection’ range of classic ‘Doctor Who’ Blu-ray box sets. This is now included on Disc 8 of the Season 20 Blu-ray box set containing the 40th anniversary edition version of ‘The Five Doctors’. I’ve shared my review of it on the ‘Logopolis’ page, as that special feature was originally meant for that TV story. Continue reading

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to check out the seventh and final story in the Season 20 Blu-ray box set of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. Today, it’s time for the 20th anniversary special ‘The Five Doctors’ by Terrance Dicks, directed by Peter Moffat. This ‘Doctor Who’ story was shown in November 1983 and it features the first five Doctors (technically). There’s Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and Richard Hurndall as the First Doctor, with Tom Baker (through ‘Shada’ footage) as the Fourth Doctor and William Hartnell (through ‘The Dalek Invasion of Earth’ clip) as the First Doctor. ‘Beast Wars’ Review #8 – ‘The Probe’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the eighth ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ story as well as the ninth episode in the TV series. Today, we’re checking out ‘The Probe’, an episode where the Maximals might have a chance on returning to their home planet Cybertron when a temporal probe is looking for them. This was the second ‘Beast Wars’ episode I saw in the half-term week of October 1998. I recorded it on VHS and enjoyed rewatching it again and again. This episode also features Tigatron, who previously debuted in ‘Fallen Comrades’. Can the Maximals succeed in sending a signal to the temporal probe using a signal array? Continue reading

‘Neptune Connect’ – Part Three

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

Apologies. This is taking me longer than I thought, but I’ve finally been able to put together and, today, I’m sharing ‘Part Three’ of ‘Neptune Connect’, my latest ‘Doctor Who’ story in ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. What with me doing my Quick Reaction Videos on Series 15 of ‘Doctor Who’, finishing the rest of my updated reviews of Season 20 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, and going to ‘Collectormania Milton Keynes’ at the end of May, it’s delayed me in sharing the rest of this four-part ‘Doctor Who’ story featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy fighting against Cybermen in San Francisco in the year 2054. Happy Birthday, Millie! 🙂

Yes, today, it’s Millie Gibson’s birthday. Millie is well-known for playing Ruby Sunday in ‘Doctor Who’. I’m pleased and feel lucky that I’ve met her at conventions, including ‘London Comic Con Winter’ in November 2024 and lately at ‘Collectormania Milton Keynes’ in May 2025. 🙂 Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – The King’s Demons’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In case you missed it yesterday, I’ve added a brand-new review on the Target novelization/audiobook of the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘The King’s Demons’ by Terence Dudley, based on the original TV scripts penned by him. The story features the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough, and takes place in England in the year 1215. It features the return of the villainous Master (as played by Anthony Ainley in the TV story) and introduces the robot character Kamelion, who wears the form of King John of England in the tale. The 2016 audiobook for ‘Doctor Who – The King’s Demons’ is read by Mark Strickson, who plays Turlough in the classic TV series and the Big Finish audios. Continue reading

Season 20 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Peter Davison on Blu-ray #6

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’re now on the sixth story of Season 20 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series and, as it turns out, the season finale. Technically, anyway. Don’t worry. There’s still ‘The Five Doctors’ for us to check out next week. In the meantime, let’s check out this two-part story by Terence Dudley, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough. It’s Terence Dudley’s third ‘Doctor Who’ contribution as a writer and it’s the first and only one to be directed by Tony Virgo. The story also introduces Kamelion, a new robot companion for the Fifth Doctor, voiced by Gerald Flood, who also plays King John in this adventure. There’s also the return of Anthony Ainley as the Master in ‘The King’s Demons’. The story’s special guest stars include Frank Windsor, Isla Blair, Christopher Villiers and Michael J. Jackson. The story was filmed at Bodiam Castle, as it takes place in medieval England in the year 1215. Continue reading

‘Beast Wars’ Review #7 – ‘Double Jeopardy’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to check out another ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ episode and it’s eighth one in the series as well as the seventh story. It’s time to check out ‘Double Jeopardy’, an episode which introduces a new Predacon character named Blackarachnia and an episode where Rattrap could be a traitor. I first saw this ‘Beast Wars’ episode in the first of five episodes being shown over half-term week in October 1998. I got to record the episode on VHS when it was shown on GMTV on Monday morning that week. It’s great to revisit and update my review on ‘Double Jeopardy’. Continue reading
