Revisiting ‘The Hobbit’/’The Lord of the Rings’ on Blu-ray

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve had a chance to check out ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ films again, set in the world of Middle-Earth. I’m planning to do a ‘LOTR’-styled Advent Calendar for my blog this year with a comedic edge to it. I also hope to make a start on updating my reviews on the ‘LOTR’ radio series once I’ve sorted out my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ reviews for this year. I also hope to see the new ‘LOTR’ TV series on Amazon Prime Video soon. Continue reading

Sarah Sutton’s Favourite Films

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As the ‘Bedford Who Charity Con’ is coming up this Saturday, I thought I’d share with you two reviews I’ve done on two films which are Sarah Sutton (Nyssa in ‘Doctor Who’)’s favourites. There’s my review on the Disney/Pixar film ‘Ratatouille’, which I saw on DVD last Saturday. I cooked a lasagne meal for me and my parents, based on Sarah Sutton’s recipe in ‘The Doctor Who Cookbook’ by Gary Downie, which we had while watching the film. Continue reading

I’m positive many have been looking forward to this. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Honey, I Blew Up the Kid’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve seen the sequel to the 1989 film ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ on Disney+! This is the 1992 film ‘Honey, I Blew Up the Kid’. I wouldn’t say it was as good as the first film, but I found some entertaining value in it and it was very intriguing how a follow-up was made to the classic 1989 film. Continue reading

Disney DVD Review – ‘Cinderella’ (2015)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Back in January 2019, I reviewed the 1950 Disney film ‘Cinderella’. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on the 2015 live-action remake of ‘Cinderella’, directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgård, Holliday Grainger, Derek Jacobi and Helen Bonham Carter. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘An Affair to Remember’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

My parents and I recently saw the 1957 film ‘An Affair to Remember’ on Disney+. This is a romance film starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. I found this a pleasant film to watch. Apparently, this happens to be a remake of the 1939 film called ‘Love Affair’, starring Irene Dunne and Charles Boyer. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

You may have seen the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Planet of Giants’; you may also have seen the TV series ‘Land of the Giants’ produced by Irwin Allen. But have you seen the 1989 film ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’? I certainly have, both on DVD years ago and recently on Disney+. It was nice to revisit this film. Continue reading

Quick Movie Review – ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

Well, I’ve seen the latest film in the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ at the cinema – ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’. This makes it the fifth film I’ve seen at a cinema in 2021. I’m sure I’m going to lose count on how many films I’ve seen at the cinema this year, but I’m glad I’ve seen this lately. 🙂 Continue reading

DVD Review – ‘Tolkien’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Once again, I’ve had an opportunity to revisit ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogies in the world of Middle-Earth. Whilst doing that, I’ve had a chance to revisit the 2019 biographical film ‘Tolkien’, starring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins. My parents and I have seen this film more times on DVD and on Disney+ since seeing it for the first time at the cinema back in 2019. Continue reading
