The story features the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan, and is a sequel to the first Mara story ‘Kinda’, which I’ve updated my review on the Target novelization/audiobook read by Janet Fielding and shared a new review on the abridged Target audiobook read by Peter Davison, both recently in December 2024. The 2025 audiobook for ‘Doctor Who – Snakedance’ is read by Geoffrey Beevers, who is well-known for playing the Master in the classic TV series and the Big Finish audios. Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve recently checked out the Target novelization/audiobook of the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ by Eric Saward, featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri. I read the original paperback edition of the ‘Doctor Who’ story published in 1989 along with the 2024 unabridged audiobook read by David Banks, who plays the Cyber Leader in the TV story. It’s been a fascinating experience checking out ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ as a ‘Doctor Who’ story in prose form compared to seeing it as a TV story. Continue reading

We’re back with another review on a ‘Doctor Who’ novelization/audiobook, and this time, it’s on the first Fifteenth Doctor TV adventure that was shown on Christmas Day in December 2023 called ‘The Church on Ruby Road’, featuring the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday. The novelization is by Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson, based on the TV script by Russell T. Davies, and the audiobook is read by Angela Wynter, who plays Cherry Sunday, Ruby’s grandmother in the TV series. I purchased the BBC Books hardback edition of ‘The Church on Ruby Road’ novelization as opposed to the Target paperback edition. Continue reading

Happy New Year everyone! Once again, I had in mind to check out and review the ‘Doctor Who’ book called ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ by Paul Magrs, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Turlough. Sadly, I’ve been very busy these past few months and haven’t been able to put together all the Nyssa stories I wanted to review for the 2024-25 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season. Hopefully, I’ll be back on track later in 2025 with putting together brand-new reviews on the latest ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring Nyssa, including the ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ book, which I’m looking forward to reading.
