Basement News – August 2022

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s that time again to share another ‘Basement News’ blog post. I’ve been pretty busy lately with making some preparations for the upcoming 60th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ as well as doing reviews on certain ‘Doctor Who’ stories, movies and TV shows. Hopefully, I’ll be sharing a preview of what those reviews are going to be like in this blog post. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Camp Nowhere’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

It’s time to talk about another movie I saw on Disney+ recently. This is the 1994 film ‘Camp Nowhere’, an adventure comedy film starring Christopher Lloyd. I enjoyed this film. It was funny to see Christopher Lloyd in another film away from his usual and well-known ‘Back to the Future’ films. Continue reading

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradey!

In updating my ‘Spider-Man’ film reviews recently, I’ve also updated the reviews on three ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ films that feature Spider-Man in them. This includes ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (Spider-Man’s debut in the ‘MCU’) and the double bill films ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Continue reading

Nichelle Nichols (1932-2022)

Hello everyone.

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

I’m saddened to share the news that Nichelle Nichols, who played Lt. Uhura in the original ‘Star Trek’ TV series, has passed away. I enjoyed her in the original ‘Star Trek’ series as well as the six ‘Star Trek’ films featuring the original series cast. My memories of her as Lt. Uhura are very happy ones. 🙂 Continue reading

Spider-Man at the Movies – ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We come to the second and final (for now 😀 ) ‘Spider-Man’ film featuring Andrew Garfield as the webslinger – ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’. Over the years, I’ve grown to like this film more and more. I know it’s the weakest of the two ‘Spider-Man’ films in the Andrew Garfield era so far, but like ‘Spider-Man 3’, I find there’s more good than bad in it. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Catch that Kid’/’Mission Without Permission’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Last Friday, I saw the movie ‘Catch that Kid’ on Disney+. Apparently, it’s a remake of the Danish film called ‘Klatretøsen’. Not that I would know that fact beforehand when watching this film, though I have seen the film on display at DVD stores and it has taken me a while to check this certain film out. Continue reading

Bernard Cribbins (1928-2022)

Hello everyone.

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

Not only has David Warner passed away recently, but so has Bernard Cribbins. 😦 I’m saddened Bernard Cribbins is no longer with us. I saw him recently on the big screen when checking out the two ‘Doctor Who’ films with Peter Cushing as well as 1970’s ‘The Railway Children’ on Prime Video. Continue reading

Quick Movie Review – ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Well, I’ve seen the fourth ‘Thor’ film in the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’‘Thor: Lovely and Thunderous’ ( 😀 ), starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman. In fact, I’ve seen this film twice at the cinema. I think this is a ‘Thor’ film that needs to be seen twice at the cinema to appreciate the story and characters. Continue reading

‘The Railway Children’ Movies

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Let’s talk about ‘The Railway Children’! I first became aware of E. Nesbit’s children’s story through the 2000 TV film, featuring Jenny Agutter as the mother and Jemima Rooper as Bobbie. Lately, I’ve checked out ‘The Railway Children’ films – the 1970 film and the 2022 sequel, both made for cinema. Continue reading
