Blu-ray Special Feature Review – ‘Time Trap’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Happy Birthday Sarah Sutton!

To commemorate Sarah’s birthday today, I’ve found the complete behind-the-scenes making-of documentary of ‘Castrovalva’, the first story of Peter Davison’s era of ‘Doctor Who’ called ‘Time Trap’, which was originally exclusive on Disc 1 of the Season 19 Blu-ray box set. I first saw this documentary back in December 2018 over the Christmas period.

It’s been lovely to revisit ‘Time Trap’, featuring Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding and Matthew Waterhouse, who revisit the locations of ‘Castrovalva’, including Buckhurst Park and Harrison’s Rocks in Tunbridge Wells, and they’re guided by Mark Strickson, who usually plays Turlough in ‘Doctor Who’, who helps them to share memories of the story.

Please feel free to check out the full ‘Time Trap’ making-of documentary in the YouTube video below.

I’ve added a brand-new review on the ‘Time Trap’ making-of documentary to my ‘Castrovalva’ page, which also includes reviews on the TV story, my 2016 article on ‘The Crowded TARDIS’ in Season 19 of ‘Doctor Who’, the Target novelization/audiobook by Christopher H. Bidmead that is read by Peter Davison, a link to my 2022 ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Strange Love’ discussion on ‘Castrovalva’ by me, Timelord007, Wolfie and WilliamsFan92, and my Days 4, 5 and 6 blog posts about ‘Castrovalva’ from ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2022. Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my review for the ‘Time Trap’ making-of documentary as well as the ‘Castrovalva’ story and other items by clicking on the page link for it.

Enjoy!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂

Thank you, Tim. It’s very nice to see Peter Davison’s original team back together to celebrate the story that started the 5th Doctor’s era. Along with Mark Strickson.

      Hi scifimike,

Glad you enjoyed this documentary with Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding, Matthew Waterhouse and Mark Strickson. I’m very pleased it’s on YouTube and that I get to share it online as well as review it on my blog. Here’s hoping I can do ‘Double Trouble’, the making-of documentary of ‘Black Orchid’ sometime.

      Best wishes,

      Tim 🙂

Please keep them coming, Tim. They’re always appreciable for showing how there’s always something about our cherished Doctor Who classics to still enjoy after so long.

        Thanks scifimike,

I’d like to share more reviews on ‘Behind the Sofa’ items like I’ve done already for ‘Genesis of the Daleks’. There are some available on Dailymotion, including the Season 23 and 24 ones. Whether I can share them online via my blog is another matter, but hopefully I can share reviews on them via my blog when the time comes.

        Many thanks and Best wishes,

        Tim 🙂
