Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s time to talk about my absolute favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story in the entire TV series. And yes, I know Peter Davison hates this story, but this is one of Sarah Sutton’s favourite stories, so that’s good for me. 😀 It’s time to check out ‘Black Orchid’, a two-part story by Terence Dudley. Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric visit Cranleigh Hall in 1925. The Doctor gets to play a cricket match and Nyssa, Tegan and Adric partake in a fancy dress ball. The story features guest stars like Michael Cochrane, Moray Watson and Barbara Murray. Sarah Sutton also plays Ann Talbot, a double of Nyssa in the story. ‘Black Orchid’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox.
Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my current review for ‘Black Orchid’. I’ve also reviewed the Target novelization/audiobook ‘Doctor Who – Black Orchid’ by Terence Dudley, read by Michael Cochrane. There’s also my article on the ‘WOTCHA – Nyssa’s Test Tube’ article featured in ‘Doctor Who Magazine’ #506, which was originally posted in November 2016. And there’s my Days 16, 17 and 18 blog posts about ‘Black Orchid’ from ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2022.
Enjoy!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂
