‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Castrovalva’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Today, we begin the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ and we come to my favourite season from the classic TV series – Season 19. To start off, let’s take a look at ‘Castrovalva’, a four-part story by Christopher H. Bidmead. In the story, Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor is recovering from his recent regeneration, but he has Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan to help him out. Meanwhile, Matthew Waterhouse as Adric has been captured by Anthony Ainley as the evil Master. ‘Castrovalva’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox.

Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my current review for ‘Castrovalva’. There’s also my article on ‘The Crowded TARDIS’ in Season 19 of ‘Doctor Who’, which was originally posted in September 2016. I’ve also reviewed the Target novelization/audiobook ‘Doctor Who – Castrovalva’ by Christopher H. Bidmead, read by Peter Davison. I’ve added the ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Strange Love’ discussion on ‘Castrovalva’ by me, Timelord007, Wolfie and WilliamsFan92, which we did back in April 2022. And there’s my Days 4, 5 and 6 blog posts about ‘Castrovalva’ from ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2022.

Enjoy!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
