‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Human Nature’/’The Family of Blood’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Let’s check out another two-part story in Series 3 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones. It’s time for ‘Human Nature’/’The Family of Blood’ by Paul Cornell, based on his original 1995 book called ‘Human Nature’, which featured the Seventh Doctor. 😀 In the TV version of the ‘Doctor Who’ story, the Tenth Doctor decides to become human and calls himself ‘John Smith’ to hide from the alien Family of Blood whilst being a schoolteacher at Farringham School for Boys in England on Earth in the year 1913. Martha acts as a maid whilst at the school. This ‘Doctor Who’ story also features Jessica Hynes as Joan Redfern, John Smith’s love interest, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Tim Latimer. And there are scarecrows in this ‘Doctor Who’ adventure. 😀 ‘Human Nature’/’The Family of Blood’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Continue reading

DVD Review – ‘Little Dorrit’ (1987)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here’s my latest review on the 1987 film adaptation of ‘Little Dorrit’, based on the novel by Charles Dickens. The 1987 film adaptation of ‘Little Dorrit’ is a two-part film. Each part is about 3 hours long, which makes this a 6-hour film altogether. You’ll probably want to spend two days watching this particular film. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Star Wars’ Week – The Sequels Trilogy

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s the last day of ‘Star Wars’ week on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ in May 2022, and we conclude on what is arguably the most divisive of ‘Star Wars’ film trilogies in recent years. It’s up to you whether you like this trilogy or not. I find it pretty average compared to ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett’. I just hope there’ll be better ‘Star Wars’ movies in future. Quick DVD Box Set Review – ‘Rosemary & Thyme’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

My Mum enjoyed her birthday present this year, which was the complete series of ‘Rosemary & Thyme’, starring Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris. I’m very pleased my Mum enjoyed ‘Rosemary & Thyme’. It’s a good purchase as we watched every episode of the 22-episode series in March 2021. 🙂 Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Sadly, a lot of the areas of Wales, including my own, have been put into lockdown recently due to the coronavirus pandemic – please keep safe. But I’m not going to be downhearted by this. I’m going to continue doing what I enjoy doing on my blog and what better way to do that by sharing that I’ve reviewed all of the episodes in Series 5 of the BBC comedy TV series, ‘The Brittas Empire’. I’ve shared my reviews on each of the eight episodes of Series 5 and have reviewed the 1994 Christmas Special too. I’m looking forward to Series 6 next. Continue reading

Quick TV Episode Review – ‘Grantchester’, Christmas Special 2016

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The 2016 Christmas Special of ‘Grantchester’ has the distinction of being the only ‘Grantchester’ Christmas Special to be made so far. Unlike ‘Call the Midwife’ and ‘Doctor Who’ where they would regularly make festive episodes every year, ‘Grantchester’ hasn’t done that many Christmas Specials. Continue reading

Quick TV Episode Review – ‘Grantchester’, Series 1, Episode 6

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’ve come to the end of Series 1 of ‘Grantchester’. Overall, I’ve enjoyed Series 1 of ‘Grantchester’ and found the character journeys of James Norton as Sidney Chambers and Robson Green as Geordie Keating fascinating. I’m currently looking forward to what happens next for these two guys. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

My parents and I have got into the routine of watching a ‘Grantchester’ episode on DVD every Wednesday. I suppose that is one of the good things about being in lockdown because of the current pandemic – please keep safe. Anyway, let’s talk about Series 1, Episode 2 of the ‘Grantchester’ series. Continue reading
