‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Power of Kroll’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Today, we’re taking a look at the fifth and penultimate story of ‘The Key to Time’ season (Season 16) in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. This is the second story in ‘The Key to Time’ season to be penned by Robert Holmes (his first was ‘The Ribos Operation’). ‘The Power of Kroll’ is a four-part story, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Mary Tamm as Romana. K-9 doesn’t feature in this story, though John Leeson gets to play a human character called Dugeen in this. The story also features Philip Madoc (well-known for being in the ‘Dad’s Army’ episode ‘The Deadly Attachment’ as well as three ‘Doctor Who’ stories and a ‘Doctor Who’ movie beforehand) as Fenner. ‘The Power of Kroll’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Death to the Daleks’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The Doctor attempts to take Sarah Jane for a trip in the TARDIS to the planet Florana. Instead, they end up on the planet Exxilon, where the Daleks also end up. It’s time for ‘Death to the Daleks’, the third story in Season 11 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. Does this ‘Doctor Who’ story live up to my expectations compared to other Dalek adventures I’ve enjoyed? This four-part adventure can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Fury From The Deep’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is another ‘Doctor Who’ story from the Patrick Troughton era that is sadly missing from the BBC Archives. The six-part story has been animated in its entirety to be enjoyed on DVD and Blu-ray and can also be viewed on Britbox. The story stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. This story also happens to be the last regular appearance of Deborah Watling as a ‘Doctor Who’ companion in the series. Continue reading

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Yeah it’s taken me a while to get to review Series 2 of ‘Blake’s 7’. I haven’t watched these episodes as quickly as I did with Series 1. But that’s due to me being busy this year. Thankfully I’ve been able to see all of Series 2 of ‘Blake’s 7’. Thus I can give my general thoughts on what I think of the season. Continue reading

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is what I gave my Mum on her birthday this year!

This was made in the early 1980s during the time Peter Davison did ‘Doctor Who’. He starred in ‘Sink or Swim’ and ‘Holding the Fort’ whilst also playing the Fifth Doctor. Continue reading
