‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘School Reunion’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In today’s instalment of the ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon, we have a special new TV series ‘Doctor Who’ episode from Series 2 called ‘School Reunion’ by Toby Whithouse. In the episode, David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose reunite with Noel Clarke as Mickey, as they investigate some strange goings-on at Deffry Vale School. The Doctor is also reunited with his best friend Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, who makes a tremendous return to the ‘Doctor Who’ TV series before going on to star in her own spin-off TV series ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’. There’s also the return of K-9, voiced by John Leeson (Sarah Jane received the Mark III model of K-9 as a gift from the Doctor in the 1981 spin-off special ‘K-9 & Company’). This episode also introduces the monstrous Krillitanes, led by Anthony Head as the villainous Mr. Finch. ‘School Reunion’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘New Earth’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The David Tennant/Tenth Doctor era continues, as we begin Series 2 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. The first episode of Series 2 is ‘New Earth’ by Russell T. Davies, where we return to five billion years in the future from ‘The End of the World’. David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose visit New New York on the planet New Earth. There, they visit a luxury hospital, run by the Sisters of Plenitude, where they discover many artificially-grown humans who have been infected with every disease. This episode also features the return of Zoë Wanamaker as Lady Cassandra as well as the Face of Boe. 🙂 Will the Doctor and Rose save the day with all the diseased humans running rampant in the hospital as well as having to deal with a lot of body-swapping caused by Lady Cassandra? 😀 ‘New Earth’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Empty Child’/’The Doctor Dances’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here’s the second two-part adventure in Series 1 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s also the first two-parter penned by Steven Moffat, and it’s one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Christopher Eccleston/Ninth Doctor era. Starring Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, the TARDIS duo travel back in time to the year 1941 on Earth where London is at the height of the Blitz. They meet John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, who eventually joins them as a TARDIS traveller. The trio have to thwart the menace of the gas mask zombies who keep asking “Are you my Mummy?” Can they solve the mystery of what’s going on with these zombies? ‘The Empty Child’/’The Doctor Dances’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

My parents gave me a Blu-ray box set of ‘Doctor Who’ featuring the first 10 Christmas Specials from the new series. This was exciting, as we’ve had a new Blu-ray player recently and it seems like my family and I are getting into Blu-ray more. It was trial and error first, but we managed to get through.
