‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – 2022 Specials Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Like the Series 4/2009-2010 Specials of ‘Doctor Who’ with David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, the Series 13/2022 Specials of the new TV show could arguably be considered Jodie Whittaker’s fourth and final season as the Thirteenth Doctor. They do have the beginning and the ending of a season. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 13 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Amid the setbacks that happened in 2020, including the coronavirus crisis, Chris Chibnall made the brave move in having Series 13 – Jodie Whittaker’s third and final season as the Thirteenth Doctor – be a six-part story instead of the usual 10-episode season that occurred in Series 11 and 12 of ‘Doctor Who’. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 12 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Series 12 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is where Chris Chibnall finds his mark as the then showrunner. Jodie Whittaker is also in her stride as the Thirteenth Doctor, along with Bradley Walsh as Graham, Tosin Cole as Ryan and Mandip Gill as Yaz. But Series 12 isn’t entirely warmly received. 😐 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 11 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

For Jodie Whittaker’s first season as the Thirteenth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’, I found it pretty good. For me at least, I found the writing of the series heralded by showrunner Chris Chibnall to be a major improvement over the previous efforts of Steven Moffat. It was a very welcome relief for me overall. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 10 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Quite arguably, Series 10 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is the best season out of the three that Peter Capaldi did as the Twelfth Doctor. There are some good episodes to take away from the season, including ‘Smile’, ‘Thin Ice’, ‘Empress of Mars’ and ‘The Eaters of Light’, which I’ve enjoyed. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 9 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Like Series 6 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, Series 9, in my opinion, is the weakest of the three seasons to feature Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor in the Steven Moffat era. It’s not as convoluted as Series 6 is, but the overall season feels underwhelming, despite the good ideas it has. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 8 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

For Peter Capaldi’s first season as the Twelfth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’, the journey for his character is established in the question he asks his companion Clara Oswald in ‘Into the Dalek’ – “Am I a good man?” Series 8 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series does explore that in establishing who Twelve is. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – 2013 Specials Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I have mixed feelings about how the 50th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ was celebrated on TV. For many fans, the highlight was of course ‘The Day of the Doctor’, which was followed by the 2013 Christmas Special ‘The Time of the Doctor’ featuring the end of Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 7 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Like Series 6, Series 7 in the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series – Matt Smith’s third and final season as the Eleventh Doctor – is divided into two halves. Unlike Series 6 though, the two halves feel like they’re two separate seasons – with the Pond Season shown in 2012 and the Clara Season shown in 2013. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Series 6 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

For me, Series 6 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is the weakest of the three seasons featuring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. Series 6 is a convoluted jigsaw puzzle of a season that has a lot of good ideas in it. It’s a shame that a lot of the good ideas were executed in a very haphazard manner. Continue reading
