Quick DVD Review – ‘A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Christmas… time? Yeah, this is one of two birthday presents I received from Stephen, my best mate at school, this year. The other present being ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ on DVD. It seems I get Christmas DVDs early for my birthday, which I really don’t mind, as it’s quite fun. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Crimson Horror’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to check out ‘The Crimson Horror’, which happens to be the second contribution made by Mark Gatiss in Series 7 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series (the first one being ‘Cold War’). In this ‘Doctor Who’ episode, Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and Jenna Coleman as Clara visit Victorian London in the year 1893. There’s the return of the Paternoster Gang, including Neve McIntosh as Madame Vastra, Catrin Stewart as Jenny and Dan Starkey as Strax. Interestingly, the Paternoster Gang mostly appear in the first half of the episode, since the Eleventh Doctor and Clara don’t appear until the episode’s second half. 😐 An unnerving mystery takes place at a utopian community in Yorkshire called Sweetville, led by the late Dame Diana Rigg (well-known for playing Emma Peel in the 1960s TV show ‘The Avengers’) as Mrs. Gillyflower. There’s also Rachael Stirling (Diana Rigg’s real-life daughter) as Ada. Can our heroes solve the mystery as to what’s happening with ‘the crimson horror’? ‘The Crimson Horror’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Continue reading

I’m really getting into the spirit of this new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series being shown on Channel 5 on UK TV, since because…well, I found the fourth episode really funny. After enjoying the third episode of ‘Muppets Now’ last Friday, my parents and I saw ‘The Great Muppet Caper’ on Disney+. Hello everyone. 😦

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

Just want to share a tribute to Diana Rigg, well-known for playing Emma Peel in ‘The Avengers’ TV series from 1965 to 1968. I was shocked and surprised to hear the news that Diana Rigg had passed away, as I recently saw her in the second episode of the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series. Continue reading

This is what I got my Mum for Christmas in 2019. I got her the complete series of ‘The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries’ starring Diana Rigg of ‘The Avengers’ fame and Neil Dudgeon. My parents and I enjoyed this crime investigation drama series set in the 1920s. It had good old-fashioned murder mysteries. 🙂 Continue reading

DVD Reviews – ‘The Morecambe & Wise Christmas Specials’ (BBC)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As we continue the Christmas season, I’ve created a new page on my blog for ‘Morecambe & Wise’. Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise were a stand-up comedic duo that had their own variety shows on BBC TV and on Thames TV (ITV back in the 1970s and 80s), featuring a variety of special guest stars. 🙂 Continue reading
