Quick Movie Review – ‘Santa Claus: The Movie’

Last Saturday, my parents and I saw the 1985 film ‘Santa Claus: The Movie’ at the cinema. I greatly enjoyed seeing this film. It’s quite tame in most parts and has a very calming quality that allows you to enjoy the festive feel of Christmas, especially in depicting a guy in a red suit who delivers presents. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Pandorica Opens’/’The Big Bang’

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the two-part season finale of Series 5 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘The Pandorica Opens’/’The Big Bang’ by Steven Moffat. In this two-part adventure, Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond receive a message. They journey back in time to Roman Britain where they reunite with Alex Kingston as River Song. The trio soon ride off on horses to Stonehenge. There, they go underground to find a box-like structure called the Pandorica, which has been waiting for the Doctor. This story features a number of returning characters who have appeared in Series 5, including the return of Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams, who has managed to survive and cheat death following ‘Cold Blood’. This adventure also features the Pandorica Alliance of ‘Doctor Who’ monsters, including Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Judoon, Silurians, etc. ‘The Pandorica Opens’/’The Big Bang’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to check out the first two-part story in Series 4 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. This is ‘The Sontaran Stratagem’/’The Poison Sky’ by Helen Raynor, starring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna. This two-parter also features the return of Freema Agyeman as Martha, who now works for U.N.I.T. There’s also the return of the potato-headed Sontarans in the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, including Christopher Ryan as General Staal and Dan Starkey as Commander Skorr. This story also features Jacqueline King as Sylvia, Donna’s mum and Bernard Cribbins as Wilfred, Donna’s granddad. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Trial of a Time Lord’

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to check out Season 23 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. Season 23 is a fourteen-part story called ‘The Trial of a Time Lord’, and it’s Colin Baker’s second and (sadly) final season as the Sixth Doctor. ‘The Trial of a Time Lord’ is divided into four segments, including ‘The Mysterious Planet’ by Robert Holmes, ‘Mindwarp’ by Philip Martin, ‘Terror of the Vervoids’ by Pip and Jane Baker and ‘The Ultimate Foe’ by Robert Holmes & Pip and Jane Baker. As well as Colin Baker, there’s Michael Jayston as the Valeyard and Lynda Bellingham as the Inquisitor. There’s also the Doctor’s companions Nicola Bryant as Peri and Bonnie Langford as Mel. ‘The Trial of a Time Lord’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. Continue reading

At last! I’ve updated my review on another classic ‘Doctor Who’ season on Blu-ray! That’s right! I’ve updated my review on Season 23 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Colin Baker! This is actually the 14-part epic story ‘The Trial of a Time Lord’. It contains four segments linked by the Doctor being put on trial.
