DVD/Blu-ray Special Feature Review – ‘Anti-Matter from Amsterdam’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In case you missed it yesterday, I’ve updated my review on ‘Arc of Infinity’, one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era. In doing so, I’ve done a review on the making-of documentary ‘Anti-Matter from Amsterdam’, presented by Sophie Aldred, produced and directed by Keith Barnfather, and featuring behind-the-scenes interviews with cast and crew, including Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton, Ian Collier, Alistair Cumming, Colin Baker, Paul Jerricho, script editor Eric Saward and writer Johnny Byrne.

The documentary is available on the ‘Arc of Infinity’ DVD in the ‘Tegan Tales’ DVD box set along with ‘Time-Flight’ and on Disc 1 of the Season 20 Blu-ray box set as part of ‘The Collection’ range. I’ve added my review on the ‘Anti-Matter from Amsterdam’ making-of documentary to the ‘Arc of Infinity’ page. As well as my updated review on ‘Arc of Infinity’ and my brand-new review on the ‘Anti-Matter from Amsterdam’ making-of documentary, there’s my slightly updated review on the ‘Doctor Who – Arc of Infinity’ Target novelization/audiobook by Terrance Dicks, read by Geoffrey Beevers.

Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my review on the ‘Anti-Matter from Amsterdam’ making-of documentary as well as the rest of my reviews on ‘Arc of Infinity’ by clicking on the page link.

Enjoy!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂

Always nice when a Doctor Who actor or actress contributes to a documentary feature on a story that we weren’t in. I think that it enhances the special sense of connection that all an entire cast can have. For the beauty of Amsterdam is one of the foreign countries that the show has filmed in, especially for the big chase sequence, it can certainly enhance the wonders of travel which in the Whoniverse are always abundant. Thank you, Tim.

      Thanks scifimike,

I greatly enjoyed the ‘Anti-Matter from Amsterdam’ making-of documentary when I first saw it on DVD, especially with Sophie Aldred presenting it and it was lovely to see Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton and Colin Baker interviewed for the documentary. I have in mind to visit Amsterdam with my best mate from school sometime. Whether that’s in 2026 or not, I don’t know. I’ll need to get my passport first and work out how to get the Eurostar train from London to Amsterdam.

      Many thanks,

      Tim 🙂
