Today in the latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season, we’re checking out the first of two 2023 box set audio releases in ‘The Fifth Doctor Adventures’ range of ‘Doctor Who’ by Big Finish. It’s time for ‘Conflicts of Interest’, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan. This box set contains two three-part stories, including ‘Friendly Fire’ by John Dorney and ‘The Edge of the War’ by Jonathan Barnes.

‘Friendly Fire’ features special guest star Alice Krige (well-known for playing the Borg Queen in ‘Star Trek: First Contact’) and ‘The Edge of the War’ features special guest star Alistair Petrie (who’s been in Big Finish audios before like ‘Criss-Cross’ and ‘Living History’). It took me a while to check out ‘Conflicts of Interest’, due to the ‘Doctor Who’ 60th anniversary celebrations that happened in 2023. Was it worthwhile checking out these audio adventures featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan?
