Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog where next month, we’ll be celebrating Christmas as well as 60 years of ‘Doctor Who’! 🙂
Originally, I planned to share a ‘Basement News’ blog post in November. Sadly, with me being busy lately, especially for the ‘Doctor Who’ 60th anniversary celebrations, I haven’t been able to find the time to put together a ‘Basement News’ blog post. Hopefully, I can make up for that in this blog post.
Thankfully, I’ve been able to put together a new ‘Bradley’s Basement’ Christmas wallpaper for December 2023, which contains images of both Christmas and ‘Doctor Who’. This is a one-off Christmas wallpaper for my blog, but I’m happy that I’ve put it together for ‘Doctor Who’s 60th year.
I’ve also had a couple of Christmas photos taken with Sarah Sutton at the ‘Scarborough Comic Con’ recently. This includes a photo of me with Sarah wearing a Santa hat as well as Santa Cuddles joining us in the photo. There’s also a photo of Sarah holding Santa Cuddles. I’m so glad I took these photos.
Anyway, it’s time for me to share what this year’s ‘Bradley’s Basement’ Advent Calendar will be like, as it starts tomorrow. Originally, I planned to do a collection of Short Trips as my 2023 Advent Calendar called ‘The Sunfire Chronicles’. It’s been postponed for 2024. More details will follow soon.

Instead, I’ve put together another ‘Doctor Who’ Short Trip adventure called ‘And There Were Seven’. I’ve used Eaglemoss figurines for this Short Trip adventure and will be sharing 24 chapters of the story, containing photos, over the first 24 days of December 2023 in the run-up to Christmas. 🙂
I hope you’ll enjoy the story, as it features the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa, who are joined by the Tenth and Thirteenth Doctors, and by Adric and Tegan later on. I was inspired by ‘The Five Doctors’ alternative scene by me, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Adric as Eaglemoss figurines.
Sadly, there aren’t any Christmas-themed reviews on any Christmas films this year. I was hoping to do a set of reviews on four ‘Doctor Who’ stories with Christmas themes to them. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find time to do them. Hopefully, I can try to do one of the reviews for Christmas 2024. 🙂
In the meantime, my ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon continues for the whole of December, as we’ve moved into the Jodie Whittaker/Thirteenth Doctor era. On Christmas Day, I’ll be sharing my in-depth review on ‘The Power of the Doctor’, the final story of Jodie Whittaker’s tenure.
At this point, ‘The Star Beast’, the first of the 60th anniversary specials with David Tennant and Catherine Tate, has been shown on BBC TV. Next is ‘Wild Blue Yonder’ and ‘The Giggle’ in December and there will be ‘The Church on Ruby Road’ on Christmas Day with Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson. 🙂
My in-depth reviews on the three 60th anniversary specials and the 2023 Christmas Special won’t be shared until much later on in the ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon from the 28th to the 31st of December. Stay tuned, and hopefully I’ll have entertaining and insightful thoughts on the specials.
I’m hoping I will have time to check out some Christmassy-related stuff on Disney+, including Season 2 of ‘The Santa Clauses’, starting Tim Allen. I’m currently checking out Season 3 of ‘The Orville’ on Disney+, but hopefully I can slot in some time to check out Season 2 of ‘The Santa Clauses’ in December. 🙂
I would like to check out a Christmas film or two on the big screen at Showcase Cinema in Nantgarw. There are several Christmas films to choose from, including 1994’s ‘Miracle on 34th Street’, ‘Home Alone’, ‘The Grinch’, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and ‘Elf’. Which of these films will I see on the big screen?
Sadly, there’s no ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for December 2023 to January 2024, which is a shame. Hopefully, I can make up for this by having the new ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for Easter time from March to April 2023. I’m looking forward to checking out the new Nyssa stories.
There will be something Nyssa and Sarah Sutton-related on both Sarah’s birthday (the 12th of December) and on Christmas Day itself. The Christmas Day item should be very special indeed. I won’t say anymore on it, but I’m glad I’ve been able to put it together. I’m certain you’ll enjoy it too.

If you’re in the mood for some ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Specials by me, there’s the ‘Merry Christmas From the Doctor, Nyssa and Billy’ stories, ‘The Five Doctors at Christmas’ and ‘Return to Christmas’. There’s also the Christmas story ‘Girl Out of Nowhere’ in ‘The Paul Spragg ReCollections, Volume 2’.

There are also my latest 60th anniversary ‘Doctor Who’ stories to check out, including my two-part adventure ‘Interdimensional Rescue’ in the first two volumes of ‘A Sparkle of Doctors’, and my epic three-part 60th anniversary story ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’. They should be fun and exciting to read. 🙂
The upcoming ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ Christmas Special in the Channel 5 TV series will be shown sometime in December. I hope to write a quick review on the special. I also hope to purchase the Christmas edition of the ‘Radio Times’ to find out what else will be on in the December month. 🙂
Regarding ‘Call the Midwife’, I don’t know if I’ll be watching the TV show’s upcoming Christmas Special this year. I might it check out, although I might give Series 13 of ‘Call the Midwife’ a miss next year. I haven’t been happy with the news that one of the characters is being written out of the TV series. 😦
I’m sure there’s more news and updates to share regarding ‘Bradley’s Basement’ at Christmas time this year, but we’ll leave it there for today. In the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy my latest ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘And There Were Seven’ in this year’s Advent Calendar on my blog. Keep watching this space!
Chapter 1 of ‘And There Were Seven’ in ‘Bradley’s Basement’s 2023 Advent Calendar will be shared tomorrow. Stay tuned!
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂
