Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
We’ve had quite a number of exciting ‘Doctor Who’ announcements recently, haven’t we? They’re for some new ‘Doctor Who’ merchandise items that are coming our way like a new Blu-ray box set and new ‘Doctor Who’ books. And you’re probably wondering whether I’ll be reviewing any of them.
The answer is, “Yes, I hope so.” 😀 I’m currently working on the ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon blog posts and I’m still working on getting ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’ uploaded to my blog in time for September to November in 2023. It’s so busy, but hopefully all should go according to plan.
Hopefully, I’ll be reviewing the upcoming ‘Doctor Who’ items announced recently in 2024 and 2025. Let me share what plans I have in mind for these items. Things might change concerning how I eventually decide to review the items, but hopefully not much once I finally get to check them out. 🙂
First, and before anyone asks, yes, I have seen the YouTube for the upcoming Season 20 Blu-ray box set of ‘Doctor Who’. I’m very excited by the news, having looked forward to the Season 20 Blu-ray box of ‘Doctor Who’ for so long. I enjoyed the trailer featuring Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding in it. 🙂
If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, here’s the YouTube video below for you to check out.
Here are the plans I have in mind for the latest ‘Collection’ Blu-ray box sets of ‘Doctor Who’. I plan to update my reviews on Season 2 with William Hartnell for March 2024. I plan to update my reviews on Season 9 with Jon Pertwee for April 2024. And I plan to update my reviews on Season 20 with Peter Davison for May 2024. I should start updating my ‘Doctor Who’ reviews in early January 2024.
There are a few ‘Doctor Who’ Target novelizations/audiobook for me to update my reviews on, including ‘The Romans’ and ‘The Time Monster’ novelizations/audiobooks. I hope to update my reviews on them whilst checking out the Season 2 and Season 9 Blu-ray box sets. Stay tuned for that.
There’s also the ‘Warriors’ Gate and Beyond’ to check out. And there are of course some new series ‘Doctor Who’ Target novelizations/audiobooks waiting for me, including ‘The Fires of Pompeii’, ‘Planet of the Ood’, ‘The Waters of Mars’, ‘The Zygon Invasion’, ‘The Eaters of Light’ and ‘Kerblam!’. Most of them I’ve pre-ordered and purchased as e-books and a couple I’ve purchased as paperbacks.
The 60th Anniversary Specials of ‘Doctor Who’ by Russell T. Davies – ‘The Star Beast’/’Wild Blue Yonder’/’The Giggle’ – are also to be novelized and set for release in January 2024. It’s likely I’ll be checking out the Target novelizations for those specials, but it’ll happen much later in the year 2024.
I’m not planning to review the Big Finish audio series ‘Once and Future’ any time soon. I’m waiting for all the audios to be released, which won’t happen for a while, since ‘Coda’, the last story, will be out in November 2024. It’s likely I’ll be reviewing ‘Once and Future’ sometime in 2025, probably for my blog’s Easter Review Season. This should be fitting for ‘Bradley’s Basement’s 10th anniversary. 🙂
Like ‘Once and Future’, it’ll take a while for me to check out the ‘Doom’s Day’ multiplatform series. I’m currently waiting for all the stories to be available so I can know where and when to purchase the series in one go. I hope to review the ‘Doom’s Day’ series sooner before ‘Once and Future’, as I’m likely to share my reviews on the series for my blog’s Easter Review Season in March/April 2024.
Whatever the outcome, I’m sure I’ll be checking out these ‘Doctor Who’ adventures to share my thoughts on them on my blog soon. The 60th anniversary has been very busy for me to terms of what I’m currently sharing on my blog so far, but it’s been very enjoyable and I’m hoping to enjoy sharing more of my thoughts on new ‘Doctor Who’ stories after the 60th anniversary celebrations. 🙂
Thank you for your continuing support on my blog and I’m looking forward to making a start on updating my reviews on Seasons 2, 9 and 20 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series in January 2024.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂

One of the best boxset promos I’ve seen. Especially for the beautiful reunion of Tegan and Nyssa. Thanks, Tim.

Hi scifimike,
It’s nice to see Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding in this YouTube and for a while, I enjoyed the reunion between Nyssa and Tegan. A shame it ended up being a ‘cruel’ nightmare for Tegan, created by the Mara. 😦
Many thanks,
Tim 🙂

A shame indeed. As an example of the purest of evil in the Whoniverse, the Mara can still be a most major reminder of what to watch out for.

Hi scifimike,
I’m amazed the Mara has appeared quite a number of times in ‘Doctor Who’, including ‘Kinda’, ‘Snakedance’, ‘The Cradle of the Snake’, ‘Tales From Trenzalore’ and ‘The Passenger’.
