Hello everyone! 🙂
I’d like to share a few brief thoughts on what I make on the latest main range ‘Doctor Who’ audio CDs from Big Finish. These are ‘You Are The Doctor and Other Stories’ with Sylvester McCoy and ‘The Waters of Amsterdam’ with Peter Davison. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening to these two CDs!
‘You Are The Doctor and Other Stories’ is a four episode anthology starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace. This is a great collection of mini-episodes with the Doctor and Ace. I especially liked the interactive titular episode by John Dorney that was so gripping to hear.
‘The Waters of Amsterdam’ was equally a joy to listen to, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor; Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan. This story by Jonathan Morris is set after ‘Arc of Infinity’ and takes place in Amsterdam in 1983 and in the 17th century with artist Rembrandt van Rijn.
I hope to post detailed reviews on these two CD reviews soon. I’m looking forward to having the CD covers of these two signed signed by Sylvester McCoy; Sophie Aldred; Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton when I meet them at the ‘Science of the Time Lords’ event in Leciester at the end of January.
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂

Completely agree Tim, i enjoyed both stories my friend, Amsterdam was my favourite of the two i thought it captured season 20 perfectly & Jonathan Morris writes well for the Fifth Doctor.

Thanks Timelord Simon. I’m glad you enjoyed both ‘Doctor Who’ CDs. I’m glad I managed to listen to them both as I wanted to have them signed by Sylvester; Sophie; Peter and Sarah next time I see them.
Jonny Morris is a very good writer, so it’s no surprise that his ‘Waters of Amsterdam’ story has turned out so successfully and I like how he writes for the Fifth Doctor; Nyssa and Tegan.
I hope to write my detailed reviews on these stories soon.
Thanks. Tim. 🙂
