‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Tooth and Claw’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to check out the third episode in the David Tennant/Tenth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ called ‘Tooth and Claw’ by Russell T. Davies. In this episode from Series 2 of the new TV series, we go into gothic horror territory, as the David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose visit Scotland in the year 1879. There, they meet Pauline Collins as Queen Victoria, who’s on her way to visit the Torchwood Estate in Scotland. But at Torchwood House, things aren’t what they seem, as a group of warrior Monks, led by Ian Hanmore as Father Angelo, have taken over the place and they unleash a vicious werewolf to get at her Majesty. Will our heroes be able to keep Queen Victoria safe in Torchwood House as well as evade being killed by the werewolf? ‘Tooth and Claw’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. In this story, Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and his friends Polly, Ben and Jamie visit Gatwick Airport in 1966 where the alien Chameleons are causing terror. ‘The Faceless Ones’ is mostly a missing six-part TV adventure with ‘Episodes 1 and 3’ still intact whilst the rest of the story has been animated on DVD and Blu-ray. You can also see this six-part story on Britbox. 🙂 Continue reading
