In today’s instalment of the ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, we’re looking at probably one of the most divisive stories ever featured in the classic TV series. It’s time for ‘Vengeance on Varos’, another two-part story, with the episodes being 45 minutes each, by Philip Martin, starring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri. This story also introduces us to Nabil Shaban as the slimy and villainous Sil. There’s also special guest star Martin Jarvis as the Governor on the planet Varos, and there are guest stars like Stephen Yardley, Sheila Reid and Owen Teale. ‘Vengeance on Varos’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. Once again, I’ve had an opportunity to revisit ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogies in the world of Middle-Earth.
