It’s time for the second story of Season 21 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. Today, we’re taking a look at ‘The Awakening’, a two-part story by Eric Pringle, where Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Mark Strickson as Turlough visit the English village of Little Hodcombe in the year 1984. There, Tegan tries to reunite with her grandfather, Andrew Verney, whilst a psychic alien creature called the Malus attempts to take control of the villagers in some deadly reenactments of the English Civil War. ‘The Awakening’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox.
