‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Doctor’s Wife’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for the first ‘Doctor Who’ episode to be penned by Neil Gaiman, who is the creator of the comic book series called ‘The Sandman’ and the writer of novels such as ‘Good Omens’ and ‘Stardust’. Today’s ‘Doctor Who’ episode is called ‘The Doctor’s Wife’, featuring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, Karen Gillan as Amy Pond and Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams. In the episode, our heroes receive a distress call and Matt Smith’s Doctor soon meets Suranne Jones as Idris, who happens to be the TARDIS in woman form. The story’s monster is called House and he’s voiced by Michael Sheen, who went on to be in the ‘Good Omens’ TV series with David Tennant. There’s an Ood with green eyes in the episode called Nephew, and there’s the return of the Russell T. Davies-era TARDIS console as well as the introduction of a new TARDIS console designed by ‘Blue Peter’ winner Susannah Leah. ‘The Doctor’s Wife’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Quick DVD Box Set Review – ‘The Musketeers’

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s funny how I seem to keep coming back to ‘The Three Musketeers’ by Alexandra Dumas every year. In 2021, I reviewed the 1993 film and in 2022, I reviewed the 2011 film. Both films I saw on Disney+. I’ve just finished checking out the BBC TV series ‘The Musketeers’, based on the 1844 novel. Continue reading

DVD Review – ‘Tolkien’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Once again, I’ve had an opportunity to revisit ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogies in the world of Middle-Earth. Whilst doing that, I’ve had a chance to revisit the 2019 biographical film ‘Tolkien’, starring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins. My parents and I have seen this film more times on DVD and on Disney+ since seeing it for the first time at the cinema back in 2019. Continue reading

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Not many care for biographical films on certain figures of history these days. I say that with the highest respect in regards to the film I’m reviewing here. But it’s a shame many of these biographical films on certain authors of famous works of literature get overlooked when being shown at cinemas. Continue reading
