BB@10 – Reflection on ‘Doctor Who Timelines’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

One of my biggest achievements on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, and it’s probably the main reason why my blog has lasted for 10 years, is the fact I’ve created ‘Doctor Who’ timelines for almost every character that appears in the TV series – both classic and new. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We continue our celebration of the 10th anniversary of ‘Bradley’s Basement’ in September by talking about one of my favourite BBC sitcom series ever made – ‘Fawlty Towers’. I still love ‘Fawlty Towers’ as a comedy series to this day, both on TV and audio CD. Continue reading

Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – Vengeance on Varos’ (1997)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve checked out and reviewed the 1997 abridged audiobook of the Target novelization of the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Vengeance on Varos’ by Philip Martin, read by Colin Baker, who plays the Sixth Doctor in the TV series and the Big Finish audios. The audiobook is included in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume Two’ collection via Audible. The story features the Sixth Doctor and Peri as well as the greedy Sil. Continue reading

Quick Movie Review – ‘Clockwise’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This past week in the UK, we had Bank Holiday Monday in August 2025. This is what I did on Bank Holiday Monday. I cooked a lasagne for me and my parents for lunch. Later on, we saw the 1986 comedy film ‘Clockwise’, starring John Cleese, via Amazon Prime Video. Continue reading

Quick DVD Review – ‘Vanilla Sky’

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

‘Vanilla Sky’. Hmm. This is a fascinating and unusual film to check out. I can’t say it’s been a satisfying experience, but the film certainly has a very interesting premise to it. You’d probably need to see the movie about more than once in order to get your head around it. Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – Vengeance on Varos’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to delve into the Target novelization/audiobook of the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Vengeance on Varos’ by Philip Martin, based on the original TV scripts. The Target novelization was published in June 1988, three years after the TV story was transmitted in January 1985. The story features the Sixth Doctor and Peri where they visit Varos and encounter the slimy Sil. I’ve greatly enjoyed checking out the Target novelization, along with the 2019 unabridged audiobook read by Martin Jarvis, who played the Governor in the TV story. Over the years, I’ve considered ‘Vengeance on Varos’ a decent ‘Doctor Who’ story featuring themes of how violence can used as entertainment for TV audiences. Continue reading

‘Beast Wars’ Review #17 – ‘Call of the Wild’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Today, it’s Bank Holiday Monday in August 2025 in the UK (England, Wales and Northern Ireland to be precise). And it’s time to check out another exciting episode in Season 1 of ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’. Today, we’re checking out ‘Call of the Wild’, an episode that I saw on ‘The Beginning’ Volume 3 VHS release, not on GMTV. 😀 This episode has the Maximals, including Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Rhinox, Dinobot and Rattrap struggling to overcome their beast personas when they’re forced to stay in beast mode after the Predacons attacked their base and stole their rectifier coil, which is meant to shield our heroes from Energon inside the Maximals’ base. Once the Maximals have succumbed to their animal personas, Megatron leads a hunt. Tigatron and Airazor must do all they can to help their Maximal comrades. I’m very pleased I saw this episode on ‘The Beginning’ Volume 3 VHS as well as in the ‘Beast Wars’ 15th anniversary DVD box set, which I purchased for Christmas in December 2011. Continue reading

Quick TV Review – ‘Peter Davison Remembers…Campion’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Back in 2019, I saw and did a quick review on the BBC crime-drama TV series ‘Campion’, based on the books by Margery Allingham. It stars Peter Davison as Albert Campion. For many, Peter was Tristan Farnon in the original ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ BBC TV series. Continue reading
