We’ve come to the end of Season 11 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series as well as the end of the Jon Pertwee era. Season 11 concludes in the six-part adventure called ‘Planet of the Spiders’. As well as Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, this story also features Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates and John Levene as Sergeant Benton. And welcome to Season 11 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series! 🙂 This is Jon Pertwee’s fifth and final season as the Third Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’. We start off with ‘The Time Warrior’, a four-part story by Robert Holmes. This story is significant for two major things. Firstly, it introduces us to Elisabeth Sladen as new companion Sarah Jane Smith. We conclude the ‘Dalek War’ saga in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series today by looking at ‘Planet of the Daleks’, a six-part adventure starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant. The story takes us to the planet Spiridon, where the Third Doctor and Jo team up with a group of Thals, as they try to stop an army of Daleks under a frozen mountain from being woken up. ‘Planet of the Daleks’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.
