Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
And here we are on the fourth and final story in Season 25 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace. I’m glad we’ve reached this point in completing Season 25 of classic ‘Doctor Who’, as we look into ‘The Greatest Show in the Galaxy’, a four-part story by Stephen Wyatt, who previously wrote ‘Paradise Towers’ in Season 24. I’ve updated and extended my thoughts on the story, based on my revisit of ‘Greatest Show’ via the Season 25 Blu-ray box set. There are two versions of ‘Greatest Show’ on Blu-ray, including the original four-part story and the Special Edition version. With the Special Edition version however, ‘Parts One and Three’ are given the extended treatment along with brand-new CGI effects.
If you press PLAY ALL on Disc 7 of the Season 25 Blu-ray box set, you can watch the Special Edition versions of ‘Parts One and Three’ along with ‘Parts Two and Four’. I highly recommend switching on the CGI effects option and the 5.1. surround sound option to get the full-on Special Edition experience on all four episodes of ‘Greatest Show’. You can also watch ‘Parts One and Three’ in Special Edition forms individually when going to the Episode Selection of the Blu-ray menu for Disc 7. It’s been great to revisit ‘Greatest Show’ on Blu-ray, especially with watching the ‘Behind the Sofa’ item featuring Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred, Jessica Martin, Janet Fielding, Wendy Padbury, Sarah Sutton, Bonnie Langford and Nicola Bryant. It’s also been great to see ‘Doctor Who: The Collection Escape Room – Team Seventh Doctor’ on Disc 8 of the Season 25 Blu-ray box set, featuring Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred and Bonnie Langford and hosted by Emily Cook.
Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my updated review for ‘The Greatest Show in the Galaxy’ by clicking on the link for it. This contains a review on the TV story as well as a brand-new review on the Target novelization/audiobook ‘Doctor Who – The Greatest Show in the Galaxy’ by Stephen Wyatt, read by Sophie Aldred. In my updated review on ‘The Greatest Show in the Galaxy’, I’ve created two brand-new reaction videos on certain characters and moments in the story for people to enjoy, including me reacting to Peggy Mount as the Stallslady in the story and sharing an insight about Morgana and the Ringmaster’s fate in the story when comparing the Target novelization/audiobook to the TV story.
You can purchase ‘Doctor Who – The Collection – Season 25’ on Blu-ray either from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com.
Enjoy!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂
