Let’s check out the fifth and penultimate story in Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘Underworld’ by Bob Baker and Dave Martin. In this adventure, Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Louise Jameson as Leela and K-9, voiced by John Leeson, come across a spaceship in deep space called the R1C, captained by James Maxwell as Jackson, who is joined by his followers Alan Lake as Herrick, Jonathan Newth as Orfe and Imogen Bickford-Smtih as Tala. Jackson and his team are on a quest to search for the race banks of their people – the Minyans of Minyos. “The Quest is the Quest!” Will our heroes uncover the secrets of the P7E spaceship that’s buried in a planet made of meteorites?

It’s been great to revisit ‘Underworld’ on Blu-ray and enjoy the exclusive special features. This includes the ‘Behind the Sofa’ item with Louise Jameson, fan and critic Toby Hadoke, Betsan Roberts (the wife of the late director Pennant Roberts), Colin Baker, Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding, Katy Manning and Matthew Waterhouse. I’ve also enjoyed revisiting the making-of documentary ‘Into the Unknown’, which was originally on the ‘Underworld’ DVD disc of the ‘Myths & Legends’ DVD box set and is now on Disc 5 of the Season 15 Blu-ray box set of ‘Doctor Who’ as part of ‘The Collection’ range. It’s also been fascinating to see some the behind-the-scenes studio footage on the making of ‘Underworld’.
