Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Let’s check out the second story of Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘The Invisible Enemy’ by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Louise Jameson as Leela and K-9, voiced by John Leeson. Yes! This is where K-9 makes his debut as a ‘Doctor Who’ companion in the classic TV series. Or rather where K-9 Mark I makes his debut. It’s been great to revisit ‘The Invisible Enemy’ on Blu-ray, especially through the CGI effects option. The story is directed by Derrick Goodwin, who makes his only contribution to the classic TV series.
I’ve enjoyed checking out the Blu-ray extras for ‘The Invisible Enemy’, including the ‘Behind the Sofa’ item, featuring Louise Jameson, fan and critic Toby Hadoke, Betsan Roberts (the wife of the late director Pennant Roberts), Colin Baker, Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding, Katy Manning and Matthew Waterhouse. It’s also been nice to revisit the DVD special features transferred onto the Blu-ray disc for ‘The Invisible Enemy’, including the behind-the-scenes making-of documentary ‘Dreams and Fantasy’ and the ‘Blue Peter’ item where K-9 meets John Noakes. There’s also the ’50th Anniversary Archive’ interview with John Leeson.
Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my updated review for ‘The Invisible Enemy’ by clicking on the link for it. This contains a review on the TV story.
You can purchase ‘Doctor Who – The Collection – Season 15’ on Blu-ray either from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com.
Enjoy!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂
