Week 34 – ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ UPDATED

–UPDATED REVIEW ON AUDIO ANTHOLOGY TODAY–

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

So, originally, I was planning to do a set of updated reviews on ‘The Lost Stories’ trilogy of ‘Doctor Who’ audio adventures starring Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding from 2011 for my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from 2024 to 2025, including ‘The Elite’, ‘Hexagora’ and ‘The Children of Seth’. Sadly, I’ve been busy in November and haven’t been able to find time to do those updated reviews. Thankfully, I’ve been able to update my review on one of my favourite Fifth Doctor and Nyssa audio stories that is actually an audio anthology called ‘1001 Nights’.

Released in 2012, ‘1001 Nights’ is mainly penned by Emma Beeby and Gordon Rennie with two mini-adventures written by Jonathan Barnes and Catherine Harvey. As well as Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, there are special guest stars like Alexander Siddig (well-known for playing Dr. Julian Bashir in ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’), Nadim Sawalha (who starred with Alexander Siddig in the 2006 film ‘The Nativity Story’) and Malcolm Tierney (who has guest starred in ‘Terror of the Vervoids’ in ‘The Trial of the Time Lord’). ‘1001 Nights’ is directed by Barnaby Edwards.

Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my updated review on ‘1001 Nights’ by clicking on the link for it. You can purchase ‘1001 Nights’ as a download from the Big Finish website.

Enjoy! 🙂

Stay tuned tomorrow for my brand-new review on the Big Finish audio adaptation of ‘Goth Opera’, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan, as well as an updated review on the original 1994 novel by Paul Cornell.

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
