Last week, I received my Blu-ray copy of the ‘Doctor Who’ 2023 Christmas Special called ‘The Church on Ruby Road’, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday. I’ve updated my review on the special by adding the details of what special features are contained on the DVD and Blu-ray releases of ‘The Church on Ruby Road’.
If you’ve not seen ‘The Church on Ruby Road’ yet, then go and check it out before coming back here to read my review on the Christmas Special. Hopefully, everyone, including me, will be revisiting ‘The Church on Ruby Road’ before the release of Series 14 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, which is due for release on BBC TV in May 2024.

Bradley's Basement 
Sorry if this is an odd question but do you have any idea what the actual size of the files on the disc were? (The episode, unleashed etc)
I’m trying to determine what the layout of the Season 1 boxset might be, and knowing how big the files were on this disc would be a big help.
Thank you so much for writing these articles, I’ve enjoyed reading them for a long time now.

Hi timeandtimeagainandagain,
I’m not sure about the file sizes on ‘The Church on Ruby Road’ Blu-ray disc, as I don’t have a drive that loads up Blu-ray discs to the home computer. I don’t have a DVD copy of the story either to check on hand. I’ve looked up on Zavvi, which has details on what the Series 14/Season 1 Blu-ray box set is going to be like and that it’s going to be a 7-disc set. I imagine ‘The Church on Ruby Road’ will be Disc 1 whilst the season itself will be on the remaining 6 discs. Not sure how that will work considering it’s 8 episodes + ‘The Church on Ruby Road’ being spread on a 7-disc set, but I’m sure more details will be available soon.

Ah, well. Thanks all the same.
My guess is that the inclusion of things like full episodes of Unleashed, all the youtube bonus content and video commentaries will probably give each individual episode at least 45-90 minutes worth of extras.
Hence the need for 6 discs for 8 episodes.
