‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Fifteenth Doctor so far and 60 Years of ‘Doctor Who’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s the final instalment of the ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ today, so let’s talk about Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor. 🙂 Ncuti has just begun his era, which includes his introduction in ‘The Giggle’ and his first full-on adventure in ‘The Church on Ruby Road’. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Fourteenth Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The Fourteenth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ has come and gone by quickly, hasn’t it? It’s a TV era specifically created for the 60th anniversary celebrations of ‘Doctor Who’, and it has David Tennant, who previously played the Tenth Doctor, playing the Fourteenth Doctor in Russell T. Davies’ neo-era. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Thirteenth Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In 2018, I was determined to not be one of the people who would immediately dismiss the Jodie Whittaker/Chris Chibnall era of ‘Doctor Who’. I wanted to give this unique era of the new TV series a fair chance. I’m glad I did, as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed checking out Jodie Whittaker’s era of the TV show. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Fugitive Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s fair to say that this is a particularly unusual incarnation of the Doctor to be portrayed in the ‘Doctor Who’ TV series – both classic and new. Arguably, Jo Martin is the first black person to be cast in the role before Ncuti Gatwa came along. The second if you count Lenny Henry playing the Doctor in 1985. 😀 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Twelfth Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Like Matt Smith, I’ve found Peter Capaldi’s era of ‘Doctor Who’ to be a mixed bag overall. No doubt Peter Capaldi is a good actor, and he does very well with the material he’s given as the Twelfth Doctor. But for me, a lot of the storytelling by the showrunner Steven Moffat feels very inconsistent. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Eleventh Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Matt Smith’s era as the Eleventh Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ is one I have mixed feelings about. On reflection, being the first of two ‘Doctor Who’ eras run by Steven Moffat, I’ve enjoyed Matt Smith’s era more than Peter Capaldi’s. I’ve grown to like Matt Smith’s version of the Doctor over the years. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Tenth Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The David Tennant/Tenth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ is an era that means a lot to me, as it was the one I grew up with when being properly introduced to the TV series in 2006. Whilst Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor is my favourite, David Tennant comes close to being second favourite from the TV series. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Ninth Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s a shame that Christopher Eccleston only did one season of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series when it began in 2005. His era as the Ninth Doctor is one of the most significant of the TV show’s history, especially with resurrecting ‘Doctor Who’ back on TV and to be played for contemporary audiences. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the War Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The War Doctor is an intriguing and unique incarnation of our beloved time-traveller in ‘Doctor Who’. Specifically created for the 50th anniversary TV special called ‘The Day of the Doctor’, John Hurt as the War Doctor has had a legacy over the years in stories featured in books, comics and audios. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Reflection on the Eighth Doctor

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In some respects, Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ only had one adventure in his TV tenure, which is of course ‘The TV Movie’. But like Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy before him, Paul McGann’s Doctor has been given a lease of life in so many mediums including comics, books and audios. Continue reading
