Quick TV Review – ‘Grantchester’, Series 5, Episode 2

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I enjoyed watching Series 5, Episode 2 of ‘Grantchester’ last night. It was another enjoyable episode that combined both character drama as well as a murder mystery. It’s interesting how ‘Grantchester’ does that in one hour of TV compared to other murder mysteries that have 2 hours to tell the story. Continue reading

TV Review – ‘Call the Midwife’, Series 9, Episode 2

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I enjoyed the latest episode of ‘Call the Midwife’! Series 9, Episode 2 had some really good emotional character drama this week what with the relationships between a mother and her expectant daughter; a troubling journey for an expectant prostitute and a blossoming romance that may end a bit too soon. Continue reading

This time, we watched the first episode via ITV1 on Friday at 9pm instead of on ITV Hub. Hopefully we’ll continue this for the rest of the season. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is what I got my Mum for Christmas in 2019. I got her the complete series of ‘The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries’ starring Diana Rigg of ‘The Avengers’ fame and Neil Dudgeon. My parents and I enjoyed this crime investigation drama series set in the 1920s. It had good old-fashioned murder mysteries. 🙂 Continue reading

It’s time to return to ‘The World of Jane Austen’ today! I’ve added my latest DVD review on the 1995 BBC TV production of ‘Persuasion’, starring Amanda Root and Ciarán Hinds. ‘Persuasion’ is my Mum’s favourite Jane Austen story and she likes the 1995 TV production of the story very much. Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve finished my reviews on Series 6 of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. I have enjoyed this season, though I don’t think its as good as previous seasons. This is bound to be due to Peter Davison as Tristan not being in it much. But hey Series 7 is coming up next. I’m looking forward to see Trist back in that! 😀 Continue reading

DVD Review – ‘Oliver Twist’ (1997)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for a film review that combines both The World of Charles Dickens and Disney together. Here’s my review on the 1997 TV film adaptation of ‘Oliver Twist’. This TV movie was shown in ‘The Wonderful World of Disney’ US programme back in 1997. Like most film adaptations, this differs to what’s in the book. Continue reading

Quick DVD Review – ‘The Demon Headmaster’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Remember the film ‘Matilda’, based on the book by Roald Dahl, where it featured our title heroine in a school run by a bullying headmistress called the Trunchbull? Well, what if there was a TV series that featured a school with an evil headmaster and a group of kids battled to thwart his pretty evil schemes? Continue reading
