At long last! Since its release in January 2024, I’ve been able to check out and do reviews on the audio adaptations of three ‘Dad’s Army’ episodes made by Big Finish. This is the first ‘Dad’s Army’ item released by Big Finish called ‘Dad’s Army: The Radio Show’, starring Jack Lane and David Benson. I’m pleased I’ve checked out this audio release by Big Finish, since I’m a huge ‘Dad’s Army’ fan. Plus, it’s been interesting to check out these audio episodes performed by two actors playing a variety of ‘Dad’s Army’ characters. Continue reading

Back in January 2024, I shared a quick review on the ‘Dad’s Army – The Missing Episodes’ DVD, which was released in 2023. This contains animated reconstructions of missing ‘Dad’s Army’ episodes from Series 2 and ‘Christmas Night with the Stars’. I’m saddened by the news that two actors, who I’ve enjoyed watching in two of my favourite TV shows, have passed away recently – Ian Lavender and Michael Jayston. Ian Lavender played Private Pike in ‘Dad’s Army’ and Michael Jayston played the Valeyard in ‘Doctor Who’. It’s sad to think they’re no longer with us. Continue reading

I’ve seen and reviewed ‘Dad’s Army: The Lost Episodes’ on DVD/Blu-ray! These are 2019 recreations of three missing episodes from Series 2 of the ‘Dad’s Army’ TV series including ‘The Loneliness of the Long Distance Walker’, ‘A Stripe For Frazer’ and ‘Under Fire’. They’re recreations based on the original scripts by Jimmy Perry and David Croft and feature a new cast playing the ‘Dad’s Army’ characters. Continue reading
