CD Review – ‘The Last Days of the Powell Estate’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s the last Big Finish audio review for this week to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’. What better way to finish it off than by checking out the second audio adventure starring Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler in ‘The Ninth Doctor Adventures’ by Big Finish. It’s time for ‘The Last Days of the Powell Estate’ by Timothy X Atack. Hopefully, I’ll be back to check out more Ninth Doctor and Rose audio stories as well as more Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz audio stories in the New Year, once I’ve sorted out my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ reviews for this year as well as upcoming in-depth reviews on Series 14 and 15 of the new TV series with Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor.

As well as this audio adventure being penned by Timothy X Atack, ‘The Last Days of the Powell Estate’ is directed by Helen Goldwyn, who previously directed ‘Snare’ in ‘The Ninth Doctor Adventures’ by Big Finish. As well as Chris Eccleston and Billie Piper appearing as the Ninth Doctor and Rose in this story, there’s Camille Coduri who makes another return as Jackie Tyler, Rose’s mum. There’s Harki Bhambra (who’s been in ‘The Magician’s Apprentice’) as Ellis Coates and Mandi Symonds (who previously did ‘Vampire Weekend’) as Brainy Betty. The story’s villain Mr. Fingers happens to be voiced by Dan Starkey, who plays the Sontarans on TV and audio. Or at least he’s supposed to be voiced by Dan. 😐 I’ll explain why I mean in the actual review.

Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my review for ‘The Last Days of the Powell Estate’ by clicking on the link for it. You can purchase ‘The Last Days of the Powell Estate’ either from Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com or the Big Finish website.

Enjoy! 🙂

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
