Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Something I’m very pleased about and I’ve been able to keep doing it on my blog since I introduced it in 2019 is share an April Fools blog post, whether it’d be via a YouTube video or maybe a quick review. Mostly, it’s been April Fools videos that I share every 1st of April.
Doing an April Fools joke every year on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ is something I’ve only been able to accomplish about halfway through my decade of doing my blog. I’m happy I’ve been able to find a variety of April Fools jokes every year. I’m looking forward to the next one. 🙂
It all started when I decided to do an April Fools video on my blog with Sarah Sutton (Nyssa in ‘Doctor Who’). It was at ‘Film & Comic Con Cardiff’ in March 2019 where I got to do the April Fools video with Sarah. I’m so glad she said “Yes!” to doing the video with me.
The video became ‘A ‘Doctor Who’ Review By TIM BRADLEY With Special Guest Star SARAH SUTTON’. In the past, I’d been conducting interviews with Sarah via YouTube. It was great to do the sketch with Sarah in Cardiff where we gently mocked ‘Doctor Who’. 🙂
At the time, Jodie Whittaker was the current Doctor in the series. I was getting into her era at that time. 😀 Looking back, Sarah and I were a great double-act performing the sketch, as we were able to read from the script so easily and we enjoyed interacting with each other.
In 2020, I shared an April Fools video called ‘Cuddles Reviews the Nyssa stories of ‘Doctor Who’. This was basically a video featuring Cuddles, my cuddly toy dog, sitting next to the ‘Doctor Who’ TV stories featuring Nyssa of Traken in their DVD sets one by one.
At the end of the video, I made out that Cuddles was talking too loudly, even though he doesn’t say anything in the video. This was before I gave Cuddles a voice in later videos, particularly in quick video reactions ‘Doctor Who’ stories, e.g., in Series 15 of the new TV series.
When I recorded the April Fools video featuring Cuddles for 2020, it was a month before the world went into lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic. I’m pleased I recorded the video and shared it on April Fools Day in 2020, as it helped with cheering everyone up.
In 2021, I shared an April Fools video called ‘New ‘Doctor Who’ Movie Announced’. This was more creative compared to the April Fools video featuring Cuddles in 2020. Sadly, we didn’t get the ‘Doctor Who’ movie I hoped we’d get for the show’s 60th anniversary in 2023. 😀
But at least I wrote and shared a story featuring all the Doctors and many companions for the show’s 60th anniversary in 2023 called ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’. And it turns out I predicted Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland teaming up in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. 🙂
In 2022, the April Fools video was called ‘The New Cast for the New ‘Wallace & Gromit’ Film has been announced!’ This was before ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ came along in December 2024. The video starred me as Wallace and Cuddles as Gromit.
The 2023 April Fools video was ‘An Overview of the ‘Doctor Who’/’Mr. Men’ Book Series’, as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of ‘Doctor Who’. It was also to sort-of make up for the fact I hadn’t done more reviews on the ‘Doctor Who’/’Mr. Men’ books.
In 2024, I didn’t do an April Fools video but instead shared a quick movie review on the film ‘Jaws 19’, which featured in ‘Back to the Future, Part II’. I wrote the review in May 2022 and it took two years for the review to be shared online. Astounding it took that long. 😀
My latest April Fools video was with Sarah Sutton where we did a ‘Basement Special Announcement’, recorded at ‘MegaCon Live Birmingham’ in March 2025. I’m very happy I’ve come full circle in doing these April Fools videos by doing the latest video with Sarah.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂
