Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
One of my biggest achievements on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, and it’s probably the main reason why my blog has lasted for 10 years, is the fact I’ve created ‘Doctor Who’ timelines for almost every character that appears in the TV series – both classic and new.
And not just in the TV series, but also in the Big Finish audios, books and comics. My ‘Doctor Who’ timelines for many of its characters combine the continuities of the TV series, the Big Finish audios, the books and the comics for people to check out and enjoy.
I’ve created timelines for just about all the Doctors from William Hartnell to Ncuti Gatwa. There are also timelines for Unbound Doctors as played by actors like David Warner and Trevor Martin. I’ve also created timelines for the various companions that join the Doctor.
The ‘Doctor Who’ timelines are what prompted me to create ‘Bradley’s Basement’ in the first place. In 2015, I created ‘Doctor Who’ timelines on the now-deceased Big Finish forum, starting off with the Seventh Doctor by combining the many continuities of his era.
Since then, I’ve created timelines for the rest of the Doctors as well as some of the companions like Leela, Nyssa, Peri, Ace and Charley. The timelines became very popular on the Big Finish forum, as I received plenty of feedback on how to improve upon them. 🙂
Once the Big Finish forum closed in September 2015, there wasn’t a home for my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines online. Thankfully, there was WordPress, and I began creating ‘Bradley’s Basement’ where I could place my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines for fans to continue enjoying.
Over the years, I’ve created more ‘Doctor Who’ timelines than I could’ve possibly imagined beyond the ones I’ve created for the Big Finish forum. Very often, the timelines I’ve created are tied in with a ‘Doctor Who’ review. Other times, the timelines come on request from fans.
As well as more companions like Susan, Jamie, Rose, Amy and Clara, I’ve created timelines for monsters such as the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Master. I’ve created timelines for allies such as Jago & Litefoot, the Counter-Measures team and the Paternoster Gang.
There are also timelines for planets like Gallifrey, Peladon and of course Earth. The Earth timeline has been constantly challenging for me, since I’m always updating it with brand-new stories to its list, including ones from the recent series. It’s a pretty ongoing process.
I’ve received a lot of praise for my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines, not just from fans but from those I’ve met at conventions, including celebrities like Sarah Sutton (Nyssa of ‘Doctor Who’). I’ve given Sarah updated versions of Nyssa’s timeline and ‘The Nyssa Challenge’.
Sarah is grateful whenever I give her new versions of Nyssa’s timeline, saying that I’ve ‘saved’ her ‘life’ when it comes to finding out where certain stories go in Nyssa’s timeline, which is very sweet of her to say. I’ve also had my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines mentioned by Sophie Aldred.
This comes from the fact she mentioned me in the CD interviews for ‘A Life of Crime’, after I’d seen her at the ‘Science of the Time Lords’ convention in Leicester in January 2016, and I’d given her a copy of Ace’s timeline, which contains all her stories in ‘Doctor Who’.
I’m very pleased that Sophie mentioned me in a CD interview for a Big Finish audio story back in 2016. Of course, Ace and the Seventh Doctor’s timelines have changed considerably, especially following the publication of the book ‘At Childhood’s End’ by Sophie Aldred. 😀
My ‘Doctor Who’ timelines have evolved greatly over the years. I’m very pleased they’re still popular to this day and people continue to use them. I often enjoy sharing a new ‘Doctor Who’ timeline for my blog’s anniversary date and I’m sure I’ll be doing so again. 🙂
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂

The crossing of the Doctors’ timelines from Time Crash to Jodie’s Doctor meeting Ncuti’s has continued to spark a great deal on both WordPress on YouTube. To think there was a time when the classic series wasn’t keen on such crossovers until encouragement from the fans, or so I read, made them finally decide to have the first story in that regard for the 10th anniversary. For William Hartnell’s final appearance as the Doctor, it was of course quite worth it.
When it comes to companion timeline crossings, my favorites being when Sarah met up with Victoria, Rose and Jo, the ending to The Power Of The Doctor where they meet and share their memories, especially Ian’s, wins the grand prize. For the chance to see Mel flourish in ways that might not been so available when she was in the classic series, some of her fans may still have some issues. But I like seeing her now as a member of UNIT. That’s the #1 rule in Doctor Who: Never give up and never give in.
Thank you, Tim, for your contributions on these discussions.

Hi scifimike,
Glad you’ve enjoyed my take on the various ‘Doctor Who’ timelines on Doctors and companions over the years. It’s always been a challenge to put together these timelines, especially when establishing placements for Doctors in multi-Doctor stories and you’re having to rely on other sources like TARDIS wiki and Eyespider to get as much information as you can, even you’ve not seen or heard the story yourself yet.
The joy of doing the ‘Doctor Who’ timelines is receiving feedback from people who help in establishing where a certain story takes place for a Doctor and companion in the series. I may not always be up-to-date concerning my timelines and there are stories I tend to miss out on long after a Big Finish audio or a book’s release date. But having people remind me that a story needs to be included on a certain timeline is always welcome and I appreciate the support from people who continually check out my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines over the years.
Many thanks for your comments.
Tim 🙂
