Blu-ray Review – ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Bank Holiday Monday in August in the UK (England, Wales and Northern Ireland to be precise) in 2024 today. Here’s my updated review on the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘The Celestial Toymaker’. This updated review is based on the latest in a line of mostly missing black-and-white ‘Doctor Who’ TV stories from the 1960s that have been animated on DVD and Blu-ray for today. The story stars William Hartnell as the First Doctor, Peter Purves as Steven Taylor and Jackie Lane as Dodo Chaplet. This story also features Michael Gough in the titular role of the Toymaker.

Originally, I reviewed ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ in 2018, where it was mostly on audio CD and there was only one surviving episode of the story – that being the fourth episode. It’s been nice to check out a new version of ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ in mostly animated form. I’ve checked out the black-and-white version of the story with the surviving fourth episode. I’ve also enjoyed ‘Doctor Who: The Collection Escape Room – Team First Doctor’ with Maureen O’Brien, Peter Purves and Lisa Bowerman, which is included on the 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray sets of ‘The Celestial Toymaker’.

Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my updated review for ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ by clicking on the link for it. You can purchase the DVD and/or Blu-ray sets of ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ either from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com.

Enjoy!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
