Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Well, you’ve asked for it and you’ve got it! 😀 Here’s my latest review on a BBV production and it’s on the fourth and final ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ episode to feature Caroline John as Liz Shaw from the worlds of ‘Doctor Who’. This is ‘Ghosts of Winterborne’ and it’s a sequel to the second ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ episode called ‘The Devil of Winterborne’.
As well as Caroline John, ‘Ghosts of Winterborne’ also features Louise Jameson, Peter Davison, Reece Shearsmith, Daniel Harcourt, David Hankinson and Charmian May. The episode is by Mark Gatiss and is directed by Bill Baggs. Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my review by clicking on the link for it.
Enjoy! 🙂
You can purchase the ‘Ghosts of Winterborne’ DVD from Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com and/or the BBV Productions website. You can also purchase the ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ 5-DVD bundle from the BBV Productions website.
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂

I didn’t find Ghosts Of Winterborne to be much of a sequel either. Chiefly because The Devil Of Winterborne didn’t seem to pile on the supernatural elements that much which somehow made that episode more interesting. Certainly for its own final showdown which had left more room fairly enough for the imagination which is the kind of sci-fi I’m more attuned to. That’s how the Wilderness Years first resonated with me via The Airzone Solution and The Zero Imperative. In Ghosts we may have had some kind of closure for the Winterborne curse. But it didn’t seem like much more than that. Thanks, Tim, for your review.

Hi scifimike,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on ‘Ghosts of Winterborne’. Yeah, it’s not really a sequel that needed to be made to ‘The Devil of Winterborne’, and it’s a shame Caroline John didn’t do more ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ episodes as Liz Shaw. But for her run in the series, it’s a decent conclusion.
I’m planning to check out ‘When to Die’, the fifth ‘P.R.O.B.E.’ episode next year after I’ve finished sorting out the 60th anniversary celebrations of ‘Doctor Who’ on my blog for this year.
Many thanks for your comments.
Tim 🙂

You’re welcome. I haven’t seen When To Die yet. Maybe because I know that Caroline, sadly no longer with us, won’t be in it as Liz. But I may see it sometime soon.

Hi Mike,
Well, there’s no rush for it. And I might review something BBV-related that has more ‘Doctor Who’ connections to tie in to the show’s 60th anniversary. ‘The Airzone Solution’ novelization perhaps? Wait and see.
